They all sat down to dinner... Baron and Naomi were on their best behaviour. ..feeling a bit awkward, curious, yet determined to like this man. But they soon relaxed... ...realizing they had nothing to be concerned about. Dominic seemed rather reserved... ....yet quite personable.... It became clear to Baron that his Mother really liked this man, and he her. Miho was just relieved and happy that everything seemed to be going well... She had hoped that the two men in her life would get along... ..and hopefully eventually become good friends. Everyone was getting along nicely... ...just as she had hoped. Dinner together had been a success. Then it was time for Baron and Naomi to leave. "I'm so glad you could both come." 'We've had a really good time." 'Yes, we did." "It was really nice to meet you." "Like wise. We'll need to do this more often." "I'll look forward to it."
Baron and Naomi arrived for dinner. ..and Miho immediately started with the necessary introductions.... "Dominic..." "...this is my son, Baron..." "..and Baron, this is my good friend..Dominic." Dominic held out his hand..."I'm honoured to meet you sir.." "Your Mother has told me a lot about you, and I'm hoping that we can become good friends." "The honour is all mine, Sir." "And this is my fiancé, Naomi..." "It's so lovely to meet you my Lady." "The pleasure is all mine, Sir."
Naomi had put away her wedding dress after the girls left, just in time before Baron got home... "So, what did your Mother want?" "She told me that she was seeing someone..." "..that she wanted me to know, and hoped I would be good with it." "Well...that sure explains a few things." "What? How do you mean?" "Well...she's been different this past while..." "She seemed happier....lighter....." "Didn't you notice?" "No....not really." "So, what did you tell her?" "That I was happy for her...." "Anyways, she invited us for dinner tomorrow evening so we can meet him." "That sounds wonderful. I'm really excited to meet him." "By the way..... how did the dress fittings go?" "Good...." "The girls loved their dresses..." "But...I think next time I should have them come just one or two at a time."
The girls had been so preoccupied with trying on their dresses, that they hadn't really noticed the pale gold gown on the mannequin....until now.... "Is this your wedding gown?" "Yes, it is." "It's the most beautiful dress I've ever seen!" All the other girls came over to look... "I'd like one just like it when I get married." "Me too!" "We all would!" "Well, how about when that time comes, I let you borrow this one?" "Okay. Sounds like a plan. Now we all just need to find someone to marry."
Meanwhile Naomi had all the girls over to try on their Flower Girl dresses. She had been busy working on the dresses for weeks. She had chosen to make them blue, and had wanted to make them all the same, but since fabric wasn't available in the lengths she needed, she had to use several different fabrics... "These fabrics are so beautiful!" "And this ribbon is so pretty." Bonnie tried on her dress... ...and Naomi handed her the flower wreath for her hair... Judith already had on her dress and wreath... "It looks so pretty." There was still one dress left draped on the chair... "Is this one mine?" "Yes it is. But it's not quite finished yet." Fay tried on her dress too... "This one is for you, Paige..." 'What do you think?" "It's really beautiful."
Baron found Miho in her garden... "You wanted to see me?" "Yes, I did. ...You know I love you, and nothing is ever going to change that? No one is ever going to come between us?" "Yes, of course. I love you too. What's this all about?" "Well.....sit down....I have something I want to tell you." "So....what's going on?" "I've met someone." Baron was taken a little aback. This was not what he'd been expecting. "Oh......really?!? Um....do I know him?" "I don't think so. His name is Dominic, and he's a sorcerer from a distant realm, far beyond Lawrence's kingdom. We've been seeing each other for a little while now." "This Raven, who arrived last year....is his friend....and he introduced us." Baron was a little bemused at the thought of his Mother falling in love, and just sat quietly listening.... "I haven't felt like this for a very long time, and we'd like to make our relationship public, but I wanted your blessing first." He took her hand.... "Of course I give my blessing." "You deserve to be happy just like everyone else." "If this man loves you, and he makes you happy..." "...then I'm happy for you." Miho got up to give her son a hug... "I love you! Thank you for understanding." "So....when do I get to meet him?" "Well...how about tomorrow evening at dinner?" "I'm anxious for you and Naomi to meet him."
Miho and Dominic were out in her garden... ...and he gave her a flower... But Miho seemed distracted... "You seem very far away today..." "Is there something on your mind?" "Well.....yes....." "I really love being with you, and I think it's time to make our relationship public." "Which means I have to tell my son. It's just that it's only been the two of us ever since he was a baby...." "...and I'm not sure how he's going to take it." "Well....I suggest you just talk to him..." "...and if he's anything like the wonderful woman who raised him, I'm sure it will be fine." "...and then I'd really like to meet him."
Marianne and I are working on a new book featuring doll photos I've taken with our old art dolls over the years. So I was inspired to take a few new ones to add to the book. Now that I have a whole group of House Elves, they would fit with some of my smaller Fantasy characters. Like my piece "Don't Bug Me!", made in 2001, which has a troll seated on a stump threatening a butterfly that's irritating him. Well, it was time for a brand new, more positive twist. I set him up in a scene in the upper garden with Avery and Emily, and turned it into an entomology lesson instead. With the troll introducing the kids to his butterfly friends.... ...and telling them all about them.... Copyright © 2022 Martha Boers
All Rights Reserved Miho had been alone for a long time. She did have Baron, who she had raised as her son, but she didn't have any romantic relationships. Until now. She had fallen hard for the dark, mysterious Dominic. He was a powerful sorcerer like herself, and had also led a lonely life. Until his Raven friend had discovered her, and introduced the two of them to each other... Having been alone for so long, they were hesitant to get involved too quickly at first, but their feelings for each other soon blossomed into something more. They had both found their true love at last...
I'd made tiny versions of my Fairy book and Winston's Photo Album. The fairies were eager to see Winston's album.... ...and Winston was eager to see the Fairy book.... Raillie was excited to show Winston the photos that she was in.... Saphira was interested too... Winston was excited to point out all his favourite photos in his album... The fairies and dragons loved each other's books...and agreed that they were both wonderful. And if you'd like to see them too, I still have a few full size copies left of both of them. So hurry before they are all gone! Fairy Book & Winston's Photo Album |
