..so that's what I'm working on next....
One of my little girls wanted to dress up as her favourite literary heroine.....
..so that's what I'm working on next.... Finally, up for sale are the two Starry Night ensembles.
For all the details, click on photo below.... Anyone have any little BIDs in need of a Halloween costume?
I have several adorable little pumpkin costumes available. All SOLD out! Thank you! Finally managed to take the two ladies to the Guildwood Ruins Gardens yesterday. It was interesting in that I was challenging myself to come up with new angles, so every visit there wouldn't result in the same set of photos. I think I succeeded.
The two 'Starry Nights' gowns have been done for some time already, but the weather never cooperated for pictures, and then I got sick for three weeks, so I've not been able to take Carina and Asa anywhere for photos. But fall is here and many nights there's risk of frost, and tonight there's actually flurries in the forecast. So if I wanted to shoot anything in my back garden, today is the day. Tomorrow everything could be dead out there. So, out we went.... You'd never guess from the photos that it was just above freezing out there....
...especially when the sun was out.... I'm working on turning some 'pre-loved' clothes into little pumpkin costumes. I bought an orange sleeper years ago with the intent of using the fabric for pumpkin costumes, but never got around to it. Then last week I reorganized all my Value Village clothing finds, and suddenly four boxes turned into six. And there was that little orange sleeper again! And Halloween is still two weeks away, so... I've managed to use every scrap to cut out four pumpkins and four caps. The pumpkin caps will be the shape of Coco's 'newsboy' cap, and with a stem on top.
I also bought two green T-shirts. The lighter one will be used to make long-sleeve T-shirts to wear underneath, and the darker one will be for leggings. Although I suspect any boys would just prefer to wear their jeans. Well, better get back to it...... On the weekend, we made the trip to see MosaiCulture 2018, in Gatineau, just across the River from the Parliament buildings in Ottawa. It was the final weekend, and it will not be in Canada again. I had wanted to go all summer, but other things - like weather and illness - kept getting in the way. So, with it being our very last chance, we packed the car early Saturday morning, and headed out for a long day-trip.... The floral displays covered all aspects of Canadian culture - our history, our various regions, the arts, indigenous cultures and legends, and our wildlife. Here's a few photos.... The train across the Prairies, which connected the Pacific to eastern Canada.... Lobster fisherman in the Maritimes.... A snowy owl in the far north.... Joyful Celebration of Nine Lions, in homage to all the early Chinese migrants.... Moon Mask, in homage to the Pacific Northwest Indigenous cultures.... Wisakedjak and the Creation of the World, from a First Nations legend..... Wild horse.... Mother Earth, Giver of Life.... Anne of Green Gables.... Atlantic Puffins.... Blessing of the Good Omen Dragons... The Bird Tree... ...and Mother Earth, with Fawn.... Jan and I both loved it! I took so many photos, and even though it wasn't the least bit doll related, I thought I just had to share some photos. I'm going to put together an album with all the photos, on my MarthaBoers website, and when that's done, I'll post a link.
