"How incredibly sad for you to lose both parents so young." "I'm so sorry..." "Thank you.......Yes, it was very hard...." "I missed them both so much." "My grandmother loved me, but there were no other children around....so it was a little lonely" "I had my teddies....and my books..." "I loved to read, and found an escape in my books....." "I'd spend many happy hours reading my favourite stories..." My favourite stories were Fairy Tales and tales of adventure.." "I'd imagine myself the heroine in the stories...." "I'd imagine myself as Alice, in Wonderland..." "...and in her adventures Through the Looking Glass.." "I'd imagine myself the Princess in all my favourite Fairy Tales..." "One of my favourite books was 'the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe', and I'd imagine I was Lucy going out on adventure with Aslan, the lion. I loved those stories."
"I suppose I should start at the beginning..." "I was orphaned at an early age...." "My father passed away first, when I was just five years old. We'd been very close. He was such a wonderful father, and I missed him so much. So my mother would take me to the cemetery so I could 'talk' to him...." "I'd bring him flowers..." ''..and tell him all about what I'd done that day...." "...and I'd tell him..." "....how much I missed him." "Then not long after, my mother died too....of a broken heart. She just couldn't go on without my father. She had loved him so much." "...and I went to live with my grandmother."
Baron and Naomi went in to dinner..... "It's so nice to have you back again Baron. It's been a bit lonely here at dinner time the past while." The maid just smiled to herself.... "Well, I must admit I've missed the wonderful dinners here..." Naomi was feeling a little awkward. She wasn't used to 'noble dinner etiquette', and constantly being served." "I hope everything to your satisfaction, My Lady?" "Yes, it's all wonderful. Thank you." Miho turned to Naomi... "How was your first day here, my dear?" "It was very interesting.....to say the least..." "Everyone has been so kind and welcoming..." "...and I loved hearing all the stories about Baron..." "...and I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I'd ever meet a real live dragon..." "...so it's been quite the day." "After all this talk about Baron today, I'd love to hear a little more about you. My son is clearly in love with you, and I'd really like to get to know you better myself."" Baron shot his nosy mother a disapproving look.
Naomi seemed perplexed. "Can I ask you something?" "When we were going out together, I really started to feel something for you. I'm just wondering if ...or when...you would have told me the truth about who you really were?" "Believe me, I really wanted to. I've never felt about anyone like I feel about you, and it seemed so dishonest, hiding who I really was...." "But how could I tell you that I was really a time travelling knight on an extended vacation? You'd have thought I was crazy." "I don't know. I probably wouldn't have believed you. Although....don't laugh.....remember when you were taking those first photos of me? I kept drifting off? Well, I kept getting this overwhelming image of you as a knight....just like you are now...." "Maybe on some subconscious level, I was picking up on your vibe, and sensing the truth." "But I sure believe it now..." "The man I fell in love with, actually is my knight in shiny armour..."
"I tried to relax and just have some fun taking photos..." "The model was beautiful...and very professional...." "She was wearing the most gorgeous green gown." "The magazine had just signed on a new, young designer..." "....who specialized in extravagant evening wear, and gala gowns." "..so they were looking for a new photographer with a fresh approach." "The magazine editor loved my photos, and over the next few weeks I was commissioned to shoot more of the designer's gowns." "Then I was told that the designer herself would be modelling one of her own gowns....for the cover.....and it was you." "You mean......that all that time.....you were the photographer taking the photos of my gowns? You were actually working for me??" "It would seem so. Although we hadn't actually met... until the day you arrived in the studio." "And you know the rest..."
"I'm glad I decided not to come back...or I'd never have met you." " Because, shortly after I got back from my trip....' "I was having a late dinner in my apartment..." "...when I received a message." "It was from a magazine editor. He said that he had been following my work online, and was very impressed with my photos. He said he was always on the lookout for new talent, and was wondering if I'd be interested in trying fashion photography for his magazine?" "It sounded interesting, so I agreed to give it a try. Then I started looking online to see what other fashion photographers were doing, to see what I liked, and what I didn't...." "A few days later I arrived at the magazine photo studio...and met the model who would be my 'test subject'."
"You certainly adjusted to my world quickly. Were you ever tempted to go back to your own time?" "Yes. There was one day especially." "I had been doing some research to see if I could find if there was anything left of my world.....this town....this castle... and one day I discovered where it had been..... and took a trip there...." "But everything was gone. There were just a few ruins left of the King's castle." "And all the surrounding grounds had been turned into a Garden...." "I did take a few photos...." "But I found it rather depressing to see how little was left..." "I sat there for a while..." ".. remembering all the great times I'd had there..." "...and it hit me, that every person I had ever known and loved, was long gone. They'd all been dead for centuries...." "I was feeling very 'homesick', and took out the jewel Miho had given me...." "I seriously considered going back..." "But I put it away." "I wasn't ready to go back just yet."
"I loved the idea of a camera....this small box....." "..and being able to use it to capture images of the world around me." "So I'd go out exploring every chance I had...." "Everywhere there was something new to see..." Then, back at home I'd download the day's photos." "I discovered the Internet, and joined a couple of photography groups." "I learned a lot from them, and started posting some of my photos...." "I even started winning some photo contests."
"I didn't have to go to work until late afternoon, so that gave me lots of time to go exploring..." "...and take lots of photos.." "There was a coffee shop I'd go to.." "Where I discovered 'coffee'..." "...and 'donuts'...." "...while checking out the photos I'd taken...."
"But when I met you, you were a photographer. How does a Medieval Dinner Knight become a professional photographer?" "Well, when I first arrived, I didn't know much about 'modern technology', and I soon became curious about all those small black and silver boxes everyone said they were taking pictures with..." "So I thought I'd ask." "It was interesting because the man thought I was just 'staying in character' as a Medieval knight who didn't know anything about modern technology....but that's exactly what I was. So he very patiently explained it to me. " "He showed me the pictures he'd taken on it, and let me hold it..." "I found it fascinating...." "So with my next paycheque, I went and bought a camera and a laptop to download my photos onto." "I had entered the 'modern world'."
