I thought the crowns turned out rather well.
When I had Aeran try on the golden gown as a possible coronation gown, I also decided to try make some crowns. Both she, and her Father, the old King, would need a crown. I don't do metal, and didn't want to sculpt anything because it would likely end up too bulky, so I thought I'd try some gold trims. There was one trim which looked about right. I started by making the crown for the King. The hardest part was sewing the ends together neatly. But the crown ended up too tight, so I made him a bigger one. Then I removed one of the sections out of the first crown so it would fit Aeran. I wanted to add some jewels, but decided to stay with clear rhinestones so the crowns would look 'classy' but not gaudy.
I thought the crowns turned out rather well. I have ten little Forest Dwellers, by Whispering Grass. The first little mice arrived back in 2013. When I first saw them I had imagined dressing them in clothes like the illustrations by Beatrix Potter. But it never happened. I did make some tiny fairy tutus for the mice so they could be Sugarplum Fairies one Christmas and dance the Nutcracker with Mr. Ropuha.... In 2015 Smuzhka Raccoon joined them, along with a fourth little mouse.... The following year, Tiana arrived, and she came with a 'boy's outfit by the artist, so I made a dress so both toads would have something to wear.... The following year they were married, and I made a bridal gown and three tiny tuxedos.... In 2018 Ginger Raccoon arrived, along with Rhett and Kitty Khitrula Fox.... In 2019 I made Ginger a fancy pink gown... But other than the two everyday outfits the Toads wear, everyone else remained naked.... Now, after all this time, the costumes I'd originally imagined have never materialized. So, with my eyesight deteriorating I figured it was high time to finally address all those tiny costumes before I would no longer be able to. So I've decided that will be my project for this March. To make all ten little Forest Dwellers an outfit inspired by Beatrix Potter, and other illustrated animals stories.... With ten characters to dress, and there being 31 days in March, that means 3 days per outfit. That's a LOT of tiny clothes in not a lot of time. The challenge will be to see if I can actually stick to it and make everyone something.
My Nami is finally back in her own Medieval gown. For the past months she had been borrowing Judith's dress in order to play Princess Elora in my Christmas Story. Judith hadn't even had a chance to try her own dress on until now..... I also switched out Judith's eyes for one size smaller... I hadn't done much with her since she arrived. Her dark hair and darker eyes have minimized the blushing on her nose, and she looks beautiful in the dress I made specially for her. She looks so much nicer now. Cousins...
