Archery Practice in the Snow

4/15/2014

Well, it was over 20 C yesterday, but we got snow overnight, and now it's below zero again, just as was promised, and we are back in the never-ending winter of 2014!

However, I finished the two little Celtic KID outfits this morning, so took advantage of the snow and went outside for some photos. I thought I'd take Isar out too, as being an expert archer, she could give them some lessons.....

I'm really happy with how these costumes turned out, and especially like Lonnie in the red one.
In a couple of days we'll be back in spring again, and I'd like to take a few more photos before sending the outfits off to their new homes.

So now it's time to clean up the last of the supplies I used, and then decide on the next commission - one down, five to go. Or maybe take a really quick break for the rest of this week, and finish Owen's outfit, and make those cushions for the tiny mouse furniture. After all, Easter is coming up, and I'm getting a house full of guests, and as nice as that is, it will also mess with my momentum. It would be better to finish up some small projects. And take pictures.

Brilliant!!! Absolutely brilliant!
They both look so adorable, and what a really clever idea to have them taking part in archery practice!
I love where your imagination takes you!

But more snow! *gasp* your winter is never-ending!
I hope you take a little break now and are able to play with your own dolls for a short while :)

I even made a target for them to shoot at, but decided I'd have to take too wide a photo. In order to still see the details in the girl's costumes the target would have had to be very close, and even though they might be new at archery, even they wouldn't be that bad at it that they'd need the target right in front of them. So I scrapped that idea.

I'm glad I went out when I did - wish I did it sooner, but I had to first make their headbands - but the snow is mostly melted now.

They look fantastic. It's so cute, how they get their archery lesson. I found the tutorial for the bow and it looks great. I'll try to build one for my Legolas.
