Aprons and Babies

With my main sewing space upside-down I've been working on some smaller projects. I needed a small apron for some upcoming photos, then decided to make four.  After all, might as well, since there's nothing major I feel inspired to do. I tried some cross-stitch hearts on the first apron bodice, but in addition to it being very difficult to see what I was doing, it also didn't end up looking very good. So I picked it all out and started over with some tiny flower embroidery instead.....

Now several of the little girls can be helping out in the kitchen at the same time.

I also finally finished some 'Bundle Babies' that I'd sculpted the heads for a few months ago.
They aren't the cutest babies, since I never was good at sculpting "cute", but then, many
babies aren't really all that cute. Plus I reduced the stress of sculpting tiny mouths by
covering them with tiny sculpted pacifiers instead.

Erzulie decided the new aprons were also handy for pretending to play 'baby nurse'....

No. I found that one at a Value Village in Windsor last summer. It hasn't been used much, but I thought it suited the 'institutional' look more than the other brown one. Plus I've lost my dining room table photo studio at the moment.

Beautiful aprons. I might even consider wearing an apron if I had one like these, preferably one with blue flowers.

And Erzulie looks really cute with her apron and the 'newborn' babies.

Touches in every woman's heart. One of my fav dolls you own. Beautiful work Martha as usual. What did you use 4 baby hair (mohair?), they do look so very realistic to me, great job!

I used tiny snippets of mohair for the baby's hair.
