And We're Back!

We are back home!

It was a fun two weeks, and the weather was perfect for sight-seeing, so we went a lot of places, but it wasn't the most ideal for taking doll photos, so there won't be very many of those. Bright blue skies, and strong winds might be wonderful for travelling and sight-seeing, but neither are especially good for taking doll photos. I did have a few preconceived ideas of what I wanted to photograph, and where, however all the wind and bright sunshine made it too challenging to take photos with larger groups of dolls, while limiting their exposure to the sun. I had brought a white umbrella for shading the dolls during set-up, and I lost count of how many times it blew inside-out. Then add in the unexpected sub-zero temperatures, and a blizzard or two, and sometimes it just seemed like too much effort.

I've downloaded all the pictures onto my computer, and the three from this set are some of my favourites - taken at sunset in Castle Valley along the Colorado River near Moab, Utah......

Now there's tons of stuff to unpack, and mountains of laundry to do, and hundreds of photos to process. I had brought along some sewing to do during spare moments, but there weren't any, so none of the sewing was even touched, so I'm still at the same spot in my fairy costume construction as before we left. It will probably take all week before I can get back to it.

Welcome home! How lovely to hear what a great holiday you had. And I can quite see why you like these photos so much....what a setting for your dolls!
Good luck with all the laundry washing now *sigh*

Thanks! The US Southwest has some great places for Fantasy Adventure photos, and that photo was taken towards the end of a nicely hazy day, so lighting conditions had been perfect for doll photos.

Welcome home Martha,

I thoroughly enjoy your trip photos. They inspire me to travel and give me ideas for where I should plan my next road trip.
