*Note about photo lighting inconsistency.  This series of photos was taken over six separate times, some in total darkness with just the little lanterns on (as in the last photo above), while others were taken very early in the morning before sunrise, and others late in the evening after the sun went down. I've done my best to make them look roughly the same, but there's no duplicating the look from one time to another.

Or maybe there's cracks in the attic ceiling, and it's a semi-cloudy day outside, and it gets brighter up there when the sun comes out from behind the clouds?? Sounds like a good explanation, and I'm sticking to it.

What fun to play in an attic full of wonderful "treasures"! The lighting is great and the little lanterns really add to the atmosphere.

Some old attics have tiny little windows up near the eaves. Maybe that's where the light creeps in when the clouds don't cover the sun :o)

Yes, there's probably some little windows up there! So then it's okay if the lighting varies.

The attic reminds me of my parents' when I was a little girl, right down to the carpet on the floor and the old trunk--although the trunk was a salesman's sample case and filled with my mother's fabric scraps instead of antique dolls. Still a treasure to me. The lantern light is magical. As always, a delight and thank you for sharing your talents!

Thank you! I got the little lanterns on sale after Halloween at Michaels, and didn't realize at the time that they actually had little working lights in them.
