Baron invited him to the Tavern....
I've been working on a knight outfit for Rex the past two weeks, and I'm almost finished. It's just that I've run out of the 'Empress Connector' beads that I'm using as 'clasps'. I only had eight, so used them on his surcoat. He still needs four more on it, as well as another six for his wrist guards. So I ordered some online yesterday. The company said they were being discontinued, so bought all that they had. Anyways, while I wait for them to come so I can finish his outfit, I decided to take a few photos of him anyways..... He has a tunic of blue brocade, and I used a dark gray synthetic 'leather' for his surcoat, which photographs on the blue side. I used chainmail from a silver clutch purse, and figured out how to make a rounded collar out of it. I'm guess it's actually aluminum as it's a very shiny silver colour. Baron invited him to the Tavern.... "Cheers!!"

Oh, they both look so dashing! I like the chain mail you made for Rex. Does it have flat disks on the back side? Which would be the front side of a purse? I had a large piece of that stuff once, but never considered using it for doll costuming. Ended up giving it to a student to play with as a sensory or "fidget" toy. Your use is much more elegant.

Yes, it has flat disks on the other side - which is actually the 'good' side when it's part of a purse. But I find the back looks enough like chain mail, so have been saving it. I pick up the purses at the thrift shop, and have quite a lot of gold and silver. My Lawrence has chainmail made from a black purse. I've even seen one in a dull army green.

What handsome men. I love Rex's outfit. The men look ready for a state parade, or whatever they did back in those days.

I find Rex looks more 'regal' in his blue, gold, and silver. Like a Lancelot. All he needs is a white steed now.

Maybe I should consider making them some banners to hold while on horseback?

Formidable, they both are really eyecandy and so realistic, I love them.
