The shades of night were falling fast,
As through an Alpine village passed
A youth, who bore, 'mid snow and ice,
A banner with the strange device,
Charmin Ultra Strong!

Frances, I love your poem! At first I thought you were quoting someone. What a great way to "capture" the essence of Martha's posting.

The poem is "Excelsior" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow - the wonderful photos made me think of it immediately. There are more verses, and it ends badly and very sentimentally. In this context think of a pale hand under an avalanche of loo rolls still holding high the banner with its strange device!

I don't know which is funnier: the photos, or Frances's wickedly delightful poem. Kudos to both of you. :D

I was so focused on Sir Kyle and how cute he is that I didn't see the toilet paper at first. I was wondering what the "crest" on the banner was. It wasn't until the last photo that I got it, then I fell out laughing.

I am loving this series. Who knew toilet paper could make people laugh!

I had seen so many funny things online that I thought it could be fun to do a Toilet paper series.

I actually took all these latest pictures in the snow first thing this past Monday morning, before our lives took a major downturn. I don't know if I actually still have a sense of humour. Ask me again, after I start shooting NEW photos. I did have lots of ideas, but this has been a terrible week, and I have a cold/flu myself now.

Oh do be careful, Martha! No going out in the snow for photos for a while! Yes, totally understand about the no sense of humor now. Please accept this big cyber hug from way over here!

You're so clever. Current events with a Medieval twist. I love the banner.
