I was originally going to go with the pink silk for a sash, so did all the decorative stitching with pink thread, but I changed my mind, so now am going with a light blue sash.
Baby Sena is approaching the one year anniversary of her arrival, which means it's time for her to get her first shorter length dress. She can't continue wearing the extra long baby dresses once she starts standing. So I started making something a little shorter.... I'm using a super fine white cotton, and was using up all kinds of odds and ends of leftover bits of lace. The only new lace off the card, was the lace for the hem of the undershirt. It's very challenging making something so small, so there's a lot of hand sewing involved.

What a little cutie. I am so used to seeing her swaddled that I didn't realize she was a BJD. She is so tiny.

Yes, she's a bjd. Not really a 'newborn' baby, but more of a toddler, so she needs a shorter dress.

I'm looking forward to seeing her in her new dress!. She is so tiny, sewing for her is fun, especially when you enjoy handwork as much as you do.

Thanks. It was very difficult to make something so short, but she already had such a big head, and most babies have really thin wispy hair. Comments are closed.
