Of course after getting home and downloading the photos, I saw all kinds of spots where I should have taken something more. Which means packing up the car again, and heading north again - for the third time this week.
I'm working on an upcoming Christmas story, which needs a lot of scenes out in the snow, so have been taking advantage of all the beautiful snowfalls north of us. We went up again yesterday to shoot eight more scenes. It was snowing very hard... Unloading on location... A sneak peak at three of the over one hundred photos taken.... I'd typed up a list of scenes with the eight dolls and three horses, and after three hours of taking photos, in two separate locations, I was totally soaked from getting down in the snow to take photos. Yes, we'd brought a tarp, but it was snowing so hard that it was covered in no time at all. Thankfully it wasn't that cold, just at freezing. But all the dolls got covered in snow as well, so once home, they all ended up standing around various heat registers to dry off.

Beautiful photos with amazing dolls. I love the knights in the snow and the sweet princess too. But please be careful and don't get sick

There were lots of great photos. I find snow just adds so much to a scene, and it was quite unusual to have two of those gorgeous snowfalls in one week. So I had to take advantage, and we made sure to prepare, knowing I'd get wet.

Yup. No pain, no gain. We don't often get those kinds of snowfalls, and twice in one week - the kind where there's thick layers of snow on every single bush and branch, but not too much on the ground - the kind that's perfect for doll scenes, so had to take advantage. But we know what we are doing, and prepare in advance, so it's not a problem.

Yes, I'm definitely dedicated. More like obsessed. I've wanted to shoot this story for years, and it's coming along nicely. Just one more outdoor adventure whenever we actually get a decent snowfall down around here, and then all the interior scenes. I won't start posting the story until the whole thing has been photographed, probably close to Christmas.
