A Christmas Story

12/29/2020

Once upon a time, there was a little Princess named Elora, who lived in a beautiful castle. It was Christmas Eve, and Elora was helping her Mother put the final decorations on their tree....
Picture
They were talking about why they celebrate Christmas.
"Why does the baby Jesus get born in a manger?"
Picture
"Well, His parents were travelling, and they got into town so late that all the rooms in the Inn were full.  But the innkeeper took pity on them and let them stay in the stable."
Picture
"And that night when the baby Jesus was born..."
Picture
"... his Mom didn't have any place to lay Him, other than in the manger..."
Picture
That got Elora to thinking....
Picture
There was an Inn in the village, with a stable.  She had passed it many times, and she wondered if she would be able to see the baby in the manger there for herself.
Picture
So Elora grabbed her jacket, hat and mitts....
Picture
"I think I want to go outside for some fresh air, and maybe take a little walk..."
Picture
"Okay, but don't stay out there too long. It looks like it's going to snow..."
Picture
So Elora put on her hat and headed out...
Picture
The castle courtyard was deserted as she headed out the front gate....

I love this story! The photographs are exquisite. I know I am going to be tearing up by the end because it's already so moving.

Thank you. I'm glad you are enjoying it so far.

I spent all of December taking photos for the story, and honestly think it includes some of my best work so far. There's so many great pictures, many of which have far exceeded my expectations.

Each day I will post a little more, and when I get to the end of each full episode (I expect there to be five consecutive, episode albums) I will put that album in Favourite Photos, so you can revisit it in proper order any time you want. Eventually the whole story will be there.

It's lovely - I look forward to the rest of the story.

And best wishes for the New Year!

Thank you. It's going to be a long one, and will likely run for a few weeks.

What a beautiful story! I will be following this and enjoying it as a special Xmas treat. Each of your photographs could be framed, they are such exquisitely staged scenes. Your talent is a gift to all of us. What color is Monica's resin? She is an exquisite beauty!

Thank you. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I thought that it would make a nice story after the hustle and bustle of Christmas is behind us.

Monica is Sweet Mocha. She's my favourite of all the Raccoon ladies, and is beautiful in any of their resin colours.

Thank you for that info. I am seriously considering Monica for one of my doll purchases in 2021. I love the color of her resin, although, as you say, she looks good in other colors, too.

Mine is Temptation Monica, in Sweet Mocha with the dramatic faceup. But she is also very beautiful as the more 'natural' Milk Monica.
