A Big Surprise

Tiana was flying in from California and then taking the train, so Mr. Ropuha went down
to the train station eagerly anticipating her arrival. He paced the platform nervously
with his big bouquet of roses.
Finally the train pulled into the station....
Picture
Everyone got off the train, but there was no sign of his Tiana. Then an old geezer with a mountain of luggage appeared at the end of the platform, and he was holding a sign for 'Ropuha'.
Picture
This guy was certainly not his beloved Tiana. In fact he bore a striking resemblance to his old Dad.

"What the..?!?!?   You aren't my Tiana!!"

What on earth????!!!!

Oh Martha this is so funny.

And I just love how you photographed this at the station. They are such interesting trains too....we don't have double-decker trains in the UK.

This is what happens when you expect a girlfriend Toad, but it comes dressed as a guy.

Those are the GO trains which are the commuter trains that service the Toronto region. Many of the GO buses are double decker too.

You are so funny!!! Poor Mr. Ropuha! I can't wait to see how this story ends :o)

The lengths you go to for just the right settings for your photos never cease to amaze (and amuse) me. Thanks for the fun you add to a day!

Well, I wanted a train in the background, so we checked out several GO stations around here for suitable locations. We finally ended up two towns over, where there was a big electrical box on the grassy ramp down to the parking lot. It was nice and high, overlooking the tracks, and with no people around to watch. I think it made a good station platform. We didn't have to wait too long before a train pulled in.

There was an OPP station right behind us, and I was hoping none of the officers would notice us suspicious people hanging around the electrical box.

I forgot to mention that I think that first photo of Mr. Ropuha is priceless!

Poor Ropuha, he didn't expect that for sure. But hope he can find a good friend, if not a girlfriend. Waiting for the next chapter.
