I've decided to stop taking anymore commissions, as it takes forever to get to them, which is frustrating to both me and my customers. I still have a list of commissions to work through - ones which I accepted many months ago, and are taking much longer than anticipated to get through - I had really hoped to have had them all done by now, but I expect they will continue right into next spring. When they are all finally done, that will be it for commissions.
So, what lies ahead? First, to photograph my Tedros commissions, assuming it will ever stop raining. Then start the next commission(s), finish making the props so I can take the last few IpleKids Alphabet photos, and make an elf costume for Tillie so she can join her friends helping out during the upcoming holiday season. Those are my short-term goals.
As to long term, once all the commissions are behind me, then my Asa needs a costume of her own. By then Kassia and Lonnie should be here too, and Lonnie will need something special too. I really have to address the last photos for my Pacific Quest photo-story, so I can finally have my two damaged dolls redone. It would be nice to finally have a big chunk of free time to start looking into self-publishing some doll photo books. I don't look forward to writing the actual story, or learning about book layout, but one thing at a time and eventually it will get done.
Hopefully next year will see more outfits being offered to the general public. I had planned on making more Renaissance costumes this past summer, but am now hoping for next year. I have so many beautiful fabrics saved up and it would be wonderful to make a dent in that collection. Maybe next year I'll finally get to some Rococo costumes, or some " dark fairies", or some of the many other costumes I've been dreaming of for years.
Just looking at everything in the Galleries and Favourite Photos from this past year, it's been quite a good year. Here's hoping the next one will be too!
