Since it's been quite a while since I left everyone hanging, I've put the entire first part up in albums in Favourite Photos 2021. Just click on the photo for a refresher....
I'm still working on the final scenes for Baron and Naomi's story. One of the back-story scenes requires royal robes - purple velour with white fur edging - so I'm working on those.... Once I'm done with Baron and Naomi's story I plan on having one of my other doll families jump into the future to the mid eighteenth century. I already have 'Outlander' inspired outfits that were made for Rex and Bianca, but I didn't have anything from that period for the children. So Last month I made the costume for the little girl. She's turned away from the camera so as not to give away who she is.... I also made a new vest for Rex's outfit - a wine red brocade one.... Even though I'm not finished shooting all the scenes for Baron and Naomi's story, I will start posting it again tomorrow. It's long enough that I should have the final scenes ready before I get that far.
Since it's been quite a while since I left everyone hanging, I've put the entire first part up in albums in Favourite Photos 2021. Just click on the photo for a refresher.... I've been so preoccupied with working on, and taking, doll photos the past few months, that I felt I really needed a break. It was a lovely day (for a change) so we went to the Guild Ruins Gardens. No dolls this time, just going to enjoy the place. It looks so beautiful in summer with all the flowers in bloom, and the ruins are interesting when photographed in human scale for a change. Not everything was suitable for photos today. The Inn was hosting some kind of formal event out on the patio, the Greek Ruins was occupied with theatrical rehearsals, and there were two sets of wedding photos being taken in the gardens. So I avoided all those.... I had hoped to photograph some butterflies, but there was only this one monarch.... Anyways, it was a nice stress free outing.
August 3rd is yet another National Watermelon Day, and this time I spotted some fairies enjoying a few slices....
Every now and then I'll come across a posting on Facebook of what I consider to be a great painting of some fairytale scene. I save them for future reference hoping to someday recreate the scene with my dolls. Such was the case with two separate images of Wizards playing chess with dragons. So I found some miniature chess men online and made a chess board, and waited until the time was right to put the scene together. However this past weekend I felt inspired that instead of a Wizard, I would have Miho, my Sorceress and Fairy Queen, playing chess with Winston..... I don't know much about chess, so googled 'checkmate moves' and printed out a sheet with six different scenarios. After all there's always someone who will know if I try fake where the chess men are on the board. Plus it makes it a lot easier for me to set up. I think Winston is winning....
Yesterday, July 31st was one of several National Watermelon Days, and some of my kids discovered a new spot down by the lake where they could go relax and enjoy some watermelon....
