I've been experimenting with some different wigs on Elin, and took this photo of her with some goslings in the gout-weed. I love how many plants are the perfect scale for doll photos first thing in the spring when they first come up. Soon they'll be huge and well over Elin's head. But for now it works great, and I like this soft romantic-looking photo of Elin gathering eggs. I've made a 'Bunnies, Baskets and Easter Chicks' Favourite Photos page with the photos
of my little Iplehouse girls Elin, Nami and Byuri. Just click on the photo of Elin above. Another pre-Easter photo of my tiny girls - this time overrun with little yellow chickies. I've always loved those cute, fuzzy, chenille chicks - reminds me of when I was very young. The girls have been playing "musical dresses", switching things around a bit, so they aren't always wearing the same thing. I'd like to make them all something new, but I don't have time in the foreseeable future - especially since it would mean making three outfits that go together. I'm hoping to get all my pre-Easter photos taken today as it's the only day this week there's some clouds in the forecast, and the actual Easter weekend weather isn't looking very good - plus I'm expecting guests and I don't want an audience when I photograph my dolls.
My three Kaye Wiggs girls are all set for Easter. They all now have dresses made from old baby dresses; Nelly and Miki have ones made from Mary's baby dresses - Nelly the yellow chickies, and Miki the blue ruffled dress - and Layla's white with red chickies is made from one of mine. They are posing in my upper garden where there's a lot of miniature daffodils in bloom. I took the day off today as it's my 35th wedding anniversary, and spent it making doll
props, changing dolls, and taking photos. My littlest girls had a lot of fun gathering eggs and running after chickies..... Tomorrow I'll get back to my commissions.... I finished the yellow chickie dress yesterday, but it was a totally miserable day out today so I couldn't take any photos of Nelly outside - so I just took a few studio shots. I really like how the dress turned out, and think it looks very nice on Nelly. I decided to use light pink as an accent colour, adding a pink satin sash and bows, and a pink lace-edged slip, and some pink and peach striped stockings. I looked through my old photo albums but there weren't any photos of Mary wearing this dress - it's obvious she did wear it a lot though, as it's clearly been washed many times, and the original lace was rather ratty so I had to replace it.
