So far this year has been a total write-off - this flu bug is pretty intense - I haven't been this ill in years. Anyway, my little girls have been impatiently waiting for when they could finally have their New Years party - after all, better late than not at all. I've been slowly making some party hats and decorations when I felt up to it, and this afternoon they finally started their little party. I expect the celebrations will go on well into tomorrow since after taking just a few photos I need to go lay down again, and now the light is gone. All the supplies I ordered before Christmas are coming in, including three new wigs. I bought another red "Roxie" for Elin since Isar pretty much claimed the other one, and intends to keep it. I also got a short light blonde"Hannah" to go with the little yellow Birthday dress for when Nami wears it. And there's a new wig for Kassia, but photos of that one will have to come later.

I hope everyone else's New Year is starting off better than mine. Yesterday a nasty cold and flu bug came roaring in like a freight train. Totally out of nowhere. In the morning I actually felt pretty good (for a change) with just the tiniest hint of an itch in my throat, but by evening I had a fever and was coughing and gagging up a storm. In some regards I'm lucky I haven't been ill before this, as everyone else in the family has been ill on and off ever since September. But it's going to put a big crimp in the plans I had for this week. I was going to take a few more Holiday photos, and get started on my next commission.
Since the New Year is always the time for making resolutions, here are some of my doll resolutions for the upcoming year..... 1. Finish everything on my commission list - hopefully by spring. 2. Make some of the fancy larger costumes I've been saving fabrics up for for years - like Rococo gowns, some more Renaissance gowns, and maybe a Musketeer ensemble. 3. Finish taking the last doll photos for my Pacific Adventure, and then make them into a book. So, here's hoping for a happy, productive 2013!! |
