This costume was originally made way back when I was in the final year of high school. It was inspired by her gown in the 'Ermine Portrait', and I spent all of March break beading the skirt. The dress was originally made on a plastic doll, but years later I removed it and reworked it to fit on another porcelain doll like the other Elizabeth. She's never had any nice photos taken of her, so I thought she finally deserved some....
Just a few more photos of one of my old Elizabeth dolls.
I had my old Elizabeth out yesterday to see if her costume would fit on a BJD, and even though it might work on a Narae, her head would look shockingly out of scale, so it's not going to happen. But then I had the idea to take some photos of Elizabeth in the castle window. She's never been photographed in a setting before. Of course I needed a more appropriate painting in the background, so printed out one of her father... This doll was made in 1982. I used an inexpensive porcelain doll kit for the doll itself. She was Abigail Adams from a set of four First Ladies. I chose her to be Elizabeth because she had red hair in an upswept style. She won first place at the CNE doll dressing competition that year.
Ooops, I missed posting yesterday, so am catching up today.... Celtic Warrior Maiden... All in pink, with puppies....
A few more photos of dolls in the sunny castle window.... ...first Rosie... And the White Cat...who is starring in an upcoming story... ...and the photo that started it all...... Kassia, back in March.... (there was still snow on the ground outside) I never shared these photos because they were part of the story I was working on at that time, but I loved the lighting so much that I started photographing other dolls there. And now that that set is back up, I couldn't help myself and have been shooting everyone there again. But Kassia was always the very first. All these photos with the sun coming in the window show the difference lighting can make. Anyways, stay tuned.....Kassia's story should be starting soon.....
It was such a nice day that Layla decided to have a birthday barbecue.... Missy was in her element at the grill.... "Burger or hotdog, and corn??" Cinnamon chose a hot dog.... Talyssa liked plenty of mustard in her's.... "How's your's??" "Delicious!" "Could I have some corn, please?"
Mini Layla was my prize for my 'Christmas all Year' photo contest entry on Resin Cafe, with Santa and the elves relaxing around the pool. It's the first anniversary of her arrival, so I threw her a birthday party.... Posing with all her friends... It was a lovely day, so Layla wanted a birthday barbecue out in the garden, and Missy offered to man the grill....
