and I think the two of them would be perfect for each other."
Owen had been watching Leona's friend Isis.... "She is such a lovely person..." "...but she seems rather lonely." "I can't help but think of my brother. He's never found just the right person, and I think the two of them would be perfect for each other." "Well, I can ask her how she'd feel about meeting him."
Well, the green floral gown fit Isis, but then I wondered how she'd look with a JID guy, and if she'd be too tall with heels (which I've not put on her yet). So I took her into the garden with Owen... ...just to see how she'd work with a guy in a tuxedo. After all, she was too lovely to be all alone...and I had something in mind.... When Jan saw the photos...."I thought Owen was a newly married man!?!? Is he straying already??"" "Yes, he is, and NO he's not!" It occurred to me that the photos were way too suggestive, and not at all what I had in mind.
"But it's not what you think!", I blurted out, and thought I'd better shoot the rest of the story that was developing in my mind as I was looking at the two of them. So I went inside to fetch Leona. dI've been seriously reconsidering whether or not to proceed with my FID couple, as life has become one endless parade of doctor's visits, and medical appointments. Any quite honestly, I feel worse than ever. So I decided I wasn't sure I wanted the stress of another set of 'stand alone' dolls. I really love my JIDs, KIDs, and BIDs, and the way most of my other MSDs work with them. But the FIDs just don't work with them, especially not the guys with their mega huge muscle-man bodies and tiny pin-heads. I've already discovered that the tuxedo I bought for my FID guy at Christmas, fits my JID guys, so that wasn't a 'waste'. But there was still that beautiful dress I'd spent most of February and March making for Miho. I could keep Miho just to model that dress.....but if it fit my JID girls, then I'd know it would be fine to just get rid of the two FIDs. And sure enough, the dress fit..... It fit perfectly fine, although the main skirt was a touch long. It might not look quite as 'elegant'
as it does on Miho, who is a little taller, but high heels would add a little to her height, and with her feet being almost exactly the same size, the heels I already have would work just fine. I know I had waited a LONG time for Iplehouse to come out with more mature-looking medium height dolls, and I bought one the first day they were released. But she's been here since last September, and I was in no rush to have her painted. Then I bought a guy to be her companion, and he arrived in January. But still I didn't get them painted. I think in the end, I prefer the JIDs. They may be more 'squat' with more 'dolly' proportions, but that's fine with me. I have a lot of dolls, and prefer to stick with the ones I have. So I guess the decision is made. Someone on one of my Yahoo groups was asking about the difference between the GLOW Real Skin, and the standard Real Skin. She wanted know if there was much of a difference, and if it was worth the extra $50, and if anyone had any pictures of the two resins together. Well, I'd ordered two real skin dolls last year when Iplehouse discontinued their sculpts; a JID 'I' in GLOW RS, and BID Chloe in standard RS. When they arrived, I was rather disappointed because I honestly couldn't tell the difference. They looked exactly the same to my eyes. Although after a second look 'I' did seem a touch darker and redder. When Charie painted them, she said there was a difference after she applied the first coat of sealer. Anyway, I took the two dolls outside this morning for a picture.... Isis ('I') seemed somewhat redder, but I thought maybe the bright blue sky was messing with their resin colours, so took them down to the studio for photos with more controlled lighting.... Yes, Isis is definitely a little darker, and redder. But it's hard to judge if she's really that much more 'translucent'. I guess people will need to judge for themselves if the extra cost is worth it.
Yesterday was Chloe's birthday, a year since she first arrived, so we had a little celebration. Her lace party dress, was one of the two flower girl dresses I made for the wedding. I had chosen that particular pink lace because it suited Chloe's complexion, and I figured the dress could do double duty. 'Two birds with one stone', so to speak. She chose a pretty cake off the shelf. I figured Chloe looked like one of the younger of my BIDs,
so she could happily turn four (but mostly because I didn't have a pink 'five' candle) She invited a few of her best friends to come over and celebrate with her.... |
