Kassia was relaxing in the sun at the beach... Soon two girls came walking up the beach...."That's our sand castle." Her little sister got down, and started working on the castle again.... "It sure is a beautiful day..." "Would any of you like a donut?"
Kassia set up a chair on the beach. "I wonder who made that sand castle?" It was getting a bit hot, so she took up her umbrella....
Kassia decided she wanted to go check out the lake this morning. It would seem that the lake level has gone down a little, since the entire parking lot isn't completely under water anymore.. ...and as the water levels go down a bit, the beach is slowly starting to get wider again too....
Every evening we go out to take a little walk - usually by the lake - but last night we decided to check on the Ruins Garden at the Guild Inn. The old Inn was purchased a while ago, and the property has been under construction for well over a year and a half. During that time there's been no public parking on the property, and it's not allowed on the street it fronts either. So it always meant a really long walk to get to the Ruins. But I'd seen photos online of the official opening, and figured all those people in their fancy clothes probably didn't have to make their way through all that mess and mud. So we went to the Guild Inn last night to see if there were parking lots yet. YES!! Sure enough, most of the construction is finished, and it's amazing what a difference a layer of sod, stone walkways, and paved parking lots make. Many of the gardens are also freshly planted with all kinds of flowers. Even the back parking lot near the Ruins was nicely paved. I wasn't sure I'd like the 'modern' design of the additions, but it works really well. It's a nice contrast to all the historical element in the Ruins Garden. Everything looks fantastic, and I expect it will become a very popular place. Even late in the evening, there were at least five sets of photographers taking portraits in the ruins. Anyway, it's nice to have the Ruins Gardens back again - at least to be able to get to them easily. But it also likely means having to go for photos in off times, as it's clearly going to become extremely popular - especially on weekends. I know there's already hundreds of weddings booked. And of course, we had Kassia with us, like we do every time we go out lately,
but I'll post those photos a bit later. Having loaned her big white dress to Leona, Kassia is taking advantage of her newfound freedom, and is out and about, exploring town - and discovering the joys of shopping..... Not surprisingly, she has rather expensive taste! I hope Leona realizes what she's done, by loaning Kassia her credit card.
I wanted to take a photo of a little girl with a big bouquet of flowers,
but my small dolls are really too small in scale with most of the flowers blooming right now ....so Layla was happy to go out and pick some... Owen and Leona were wondering how to introduce Owen's brother to their friend Isis... "I'll go talk to her, and see if she's interested in meeting him." "Owen and I have been thinking." "Owen has a brother, and we think the two of you might really hit it off" "His brother is in Korea right now, but if you are interested, we'd be happy to introduce the two of you when he comes back. Or if you are interested, we can put you in touch with him." Leona gave Owen a nod, and whispered, "She's definitely interested."
So I better go order that brother now! |
