First, Jan putting some seaweed on Ringo's hook....
Just a few photos from the fishing sequence.... First, Jan putting some seaweed on Ringo's hook.... ...and positioning the fish just below the surface, so we can see it when Nami points to it.... ..and Nami back in the RV, getting her lower legs cleaned after standing in the lake water...
After wading around in the edge of the lake, Nami wanted a bath. But being in a wilderness campground without any kind of modern facilities, she decided to set up her own private bath space. She found a large clean tub, boiled some water, and created a somewhat private space by hanging up some beach towels....
Suddenly Eric's pole bent hard down to the water.... ... and he struggled to hold on... The fish was HUGE, so Nami quickly slipped into the water with her net, to help land it... "Wow, that is some big fish!"
The kids sat patiently, waiting for that first nibble.... Nami spotted a big fish swimming near them. "Maybe you'll catch him..." Then Ringo felt a tug on his line, and everyone turned to look.... ....but the thrill of getting the first bite, turned to disappointment..... It was just a piece of seaweed....
So they took their fishing poles and the container full of worms, and went to go fishing. But when it came time to actually put a worm on his hook, Ringo wasn't sure what to do.... "What, we are supposed to stick the hook right through him??" Finally, with worms on both their hooks, they lowered them into the water, and sat back, wondering if they would catch anything.........and who would catch something first....
The kids loved the fish & chips, but knew they couldn't afford to eat at Herbert's every single day. So some of them got the bright idea to catch their own fish. But first they needed some bait....
After the disastrous lunch, Aaron and Byuri decided to play it safe and buy their dinner in town. They had some of the 'world famous' fish & chips at Herbert's Fisheries down on the dock....
Today was the annual Maple Leaf Doll Show in Cambridge. I like to arrive shortly after it opens, and am mainly on the lookout for doll props and furniture. You never know what you will find. Sometimes I find lots of things. Other times I leave empty-handed. But today was a good day.... I hit the jackpot with all kinds of MSD size wicker furniture. I even found a second loveseat like one I already own. The table is a bit too big scale-wise for the two seats I got today, but will go with the larger wicker furniture for my Kaye Wiggs dolls. I also found a little reed basket for one of my Toads I also scored a fancy velvet armchair. It's not the finest workmanship - rather square and clunky - but it is MSD size and will do nicely.. And what would a doll show be, if I didn't come home with yet another tea set? I have lots of very small tea sets, more the 1/12th dollhouse scale. And a couple of larger sets great for my bigger dolls. But this one was an in-between size, perfect for my MSDs..... It was such an unusual shape and size, and just looked so pretty, I had to get it. After I got it home and unpacked it, all the 'ears' on everything really struck me. They look like pointed elf ears! So maybe the perfect tea set for an elven gathering.
Not long after lunch, everyone started to feel unwell..... Something was definitely not sitting well in their stomachs.... Everyone rushed to the outhouse.... Poor Nami was doubled over with cramps.... Ringo was so glad he'd skipped the mushrooms at lunch, but he felt really sorry for his friends, and thought he'd better bring some extra toilet paper in case they ran out.... "Hurry up in there! All the rest of us need to go too!!"
