Ye Olde Fairy Tales
I'm the eldest of four, and have always been closest to my youngest sister Marianne, who is eight years younger than me. When we were kids we used to do all kinds of things together. She liked to colour, and I liked to draw, so I'd draw her pictures to colour. Then the summer I was 16 and she was eight, we went on a camping trip to Manitoulin Island, and it rained much of the time. So we'd be stuck in the tent, and I started drawing a fairytale story for her to colour. I drew the story with a marker in a scrapbook with newsprint pages, and over the next few months I drew several more stories, which she and her friends would colour.
Then, more than fifty years later, Marianne, who had kept that scrapbook with the collection of fairytales, decided to turn them into an actual printed book. The newsprint had mellowed over the years, but the stories still retained their charm. So I've decided to share them here, complete with the original text written so long ago.....

And then the last one, which was never finished. Only one of the pictures had been coloured years ago, so Marianne coloured the rest before putting the book together.
