Swim Trunks or Shorts for KIDs & BIDs
These shorts were designed to fit Iplehouse BIDs and KIDs. They may fit other dolls with similar measurements.

Instructions
1. Print pattern and cut out. Note that these patterns include the seam allowances.
2. Pin pattern onto double layer of cotton fabric with right sides together. Cut out. Stitch the curved front seam. Zig zag.

3. Make folded hem on bottom edges. Make larger folded hem on top edge, wide enough for elastic.
4. Thread thin elastic into a large darning needle, and insert into top pocket seam....
5. Pin one end of elastic onto end of pocket, and carefully stretch the pants top to check for what length of elastic you will need. (Sorry, I forgot to measure it) Pin the second end of the elastic, and cut off excess.
6. Fold pants with right sides together, matching up the back seam. Stitch, going back and forth over the elastic a few times, to hold it securely, then Zig-zag the seam.
7. Now fold shorts so the crotch seam edges and pants cuffs line up. Sew seam, clip crotch, then zig-zag seam. Turn right side out
8. To make it look more like swim trunks, make a small cord, tie into a small bow, and sew onto front waistband....
And that's all there is to it! Now it's time for the boys to get out there and have some fun!
