Starting a New Painting
With all the time it took to move into her new studio, Narae couldn't wait to get back to her painting.
She was really in the mood to paint a still life, so started setting one up.

First she pinned up the background fabric..
Then it needed a pretty flower arrangement...
..and a tea service.....
...then a bit of artistic rearrangement of the macarons.......and it was done.....
Before starting the painting, Narae decided to under-paint the canvas with a solid, contrasting colour ....
"I think this one needs to be orange underneath..."
With the underpainting done, and dry, it was time to start the actual painting....
Ready to start......moving the easel into position.....
She started painting the background, working from the top down....mixing just the right colours on her palette....
"Okay, I think that's enough for today..."
Time to let the paint dry...

She started hanging up her flyers throughout her neighbourhood...
She also handed out flyers to any interested kids passing by....
"This looks really great! I want to come!!"
Narae was feeling very encouraged by the positive responses so far....
Never being content with having just one thing on the go, Narae decided to continue with another still life that she'd started before her move. She figured it was a good way to help pass the time while she was waiting for the art class registrations to come in.
She decided to start a second second still life, but this time she wanted to do something totally different, with much more of an old 'fashioned' feel to it, with a simple set up of bread, fruit, wine & cheese...

Again, she first started with the background....
"That's enough for today..."
Then she had to put everything away, since her art classes started the next day....
