Quest 4 - Byuri -Working File
A Wolf Encounter
That evening after they had set up camp, a wolf suddenly appeared....
Adrian and Narin pulled their weapons, feeling a bit uncertain about what to do after the incident with the bear....
Byuri was afraid they would hurt the wolf too....
...and fearing a repeat of what happened to the bear, she quickly stepped between them....
The others were stunned....as Byuri embraced the wolf....
She seemed to have a special connection to him....
"Don't shoot him! He's not going to hurt us."
"He's just hungry and was looking for something to eat."
Then they all watched in disbelief....
...as Byuri led the wolf over to the fire and started to share her meal with him....
They could barely believe it....
The little girl seemed to have some kind of special connection to all the animals in the forest....
Taking a Break
The group continued the trek westward, sometimes along the shore...
...and sometimes passing magnificent waterfalls....
..and other times struggling through the thick rainforest....
Every now and then they would stop to take a rest and have something to eat...
Always under the watchful eye of the eagle, who seemed to be leading the way....
"I think the eagle wants us to hurry up and get moving again."
Byuri's Mother
Then one day as they were making their way through another forest...
...always following the eagle.
They suddenly spotted someone in the trees ahead.
Byuri ran to her.
It was Byuri's mother. She had been wandering the forests for weeks searching for her lost daughter....
Byuri had been reunited with her Mother at last.
the Heart of the Mountain
That evening everyone sat around the fire. Byuri told her mother all about the adventures she'd had with her new friends, and how the eagle had led them to find her. And Aeran shared with Byuri's mother all about the quest she and her companions were on looking to recover a long lost jewel ... the Heart of the Mountain ...and how she needed it to legitimize her position as Queen in her Grandfather's kingdom.
Byuri's mother took something out of a small leather bag. "Is this what you are looking for?"
Aeran could barely believe it. All the months spent searching for the missing talisman, and here it was.
"It was given to our people many years ago," continued Byuri's mother, "But I have no use for a jewel such as this. My daughter is my jewel ... and I want you to take this, to thank you, for returning her to me."

Aeran didn't know what to say. She could never have known that having put aside her search for the talisman and going instead on another journey to help reunite a lost little girl with her mother, that she would receive the very jewel she had been searching for.
"It's beautiful." she whispered. "Thank you."
"It's beautiful." she whispered. "Thank you."
The next morning, after a tearful good-bye, Aeran and her companions left Byuri and her mother, to start the long journey back home...
Byuri watched her new friends as they disappeared into the forest, and wondered if she would ever seen any of them again.
