Ye Olde Fairy Tales
Ever wonder where all my fantasy stories come from?
I've always loved fairytales ever since I was little. I also loved to draw. And my little sister loved to colour. So. I'd sometimes draw pictures for her to colour.
Then on a family camping trip some 54 years ago, when I was sixteen and she was eight, it rained so much that we were stuck in the tent all day, and there wasn't much else to do, so I started drawing some original fairytale stories for her to colour. The stories were drawn in a newsprint pad using a black marker, with all the accompanying text. The stories evolved, with all kinds of twists and turns as I went. After we were home after that camping trip I continued drawing more stories for my sister and her friends to colour. They'd wait in anticipation, to see where the stories would go. I continued drawing the stories for several months, but the last one - a Christmas story - was never finished.
Then a few years ago my sister came across the pad with all the coloured stories again. The newsprint had mellowed considerably over the years, and she decided they'd make a fun, permanent book for herself. I got a copy too.

I thought it might be fun to share the stories here....

Unfortunately that was the last drawing I did, and the story was never finished, so the ending was left to the imagination. But since all the other stories had a happy ending, this one probably would have as well.
