Naomi & Baron, Somewhere in Time 

​the Kiss

Baron and Naomi's kiss was magical......

.....literally....

"What just happened??"

Baron was dressed as a knight....just like she had imagined him the very first time she met him....

"Am I dreaming again..?"

"I don't think so..."

"Then where are we?"

"And what am I doing in this dress?"

"It's gorgeous, but where did it come from?"

"Don't worry. I'm sure there's an explanation.  
​You do look very beautiful in it."

Suddenly they weren't alone...

"I see you're back!"

All Magic has a Price

It was clear that Baron and the woman knew each other....

She embraced him, "It's so good to see you again..."

"But...why am I back here??"

"When I sent you into the future, it was never intended to be permanent.
​True love's first kiss was going to bring you back.... along with your lady."

"All magic comes with a price..."

"What do you mean 'sent him into the future'?"

"Where is this?"

"Speaking of your lady love, why don't you introduce us?"

Introducing Naomi

"Yes, of course. Where's my manners?"

Baron put his arm around Naomi....

...and took her hand....

"This is Naomi...."

The woman reached out to welcome Naomi...

"It's so lovely to meet you...."

Introducing the Fairy Queen

"Naomi, I'd like you to meet Miho...."

"She is Queen of the Fairies..."

Naomi wasn't sure what she was hearing, or that she even believed it....

..but she knew enough that one should always bow or curtsy when introduced to royalty, so she thought she would just play along....

"Your Majesty...."

Baron took the Fairy Queen's hand....

"Miho is a great and powerful Sorceress...."

".....and....she's also..."

"...my Mother."

Overwhelmed

Naomi couldn't believe what she was hearing...

It all seemed way too much to take in....

Suddenly everything went dark...

...and she collapsed,.... passed out.... on the floor....

"Oh dear!"

"And she hasn't even seen your wings yet.."

"Naomi?!?......"

Waking Up

​Naomi was coming to, but she was still very groggy....

"What....happened...?"

"You fainted..."

"Here, give her this. It will make her feel better..."

"Take a drink...... it will help clear your head.."

"I'm so sorry.....I feel so embarrassed...."

"Well, you've had quite the shock..."

"I'm really sorry too.  I had no idea this was going to happen..."

"So we really are here?  And I'm not imagining it?"

A Foundling

Naomi was starting to feel a little better....

"Can I ask you something?   

​If your Mother really is a sorceress and Queen of the Fairies, what does that make you??"

"If you mean if I have magic too......then no.....I'm human just like you."

"​I was a foundling. I never knew my real parents....."

"The village I'm from was under attack.  The Fairy Queen went to try stop it, but arrived too late. There were no survivors, and the village was destroyed. But Miho heard something under the debris, and there inside a trunk she found a baby....a little baby boy...."

"My parents had hidden me in hopes of keeping me safe..."

"Miho used to tell me all the time, that it was 'love at first sight'..."

"She had always hoped for a child, but had never had one of her own..."

"So she decided to take me home with her, and raise me as her own."

Baby Baron

"I'm so sorry about your parents.  They must have loved you very much when they hid you away. They definitely saved your life."

 "Yes, they did.   I think of them sometimes, and wonder what they were really like....and what it would have been like to grow up knowing my real parents."

"Instead....I went home with the Fairy Queen..."

"She tells me she didn't have any experience with babies, especially not human ones..."

"But she said I was a happy baby..."

"...and she had never felt such a love before...."

Young Baron

"It must have been interesting growing up with the Queen of the Fairies..."

"There were probably advantages, but I didn't know any better.  ​I was just a little boy, and she was my Mother..."

"We did spend a lot of time together...."

"She taught me to play chess..."

"It was one of our favourite things to do, and I eventually got as good at it as she was...."

Flowers for Mom

"It sounds like she was a wonderful mother."

"Yes, she was, and she was very tolerant and forgiving of some of the things I did...."

"She loved flowers, so every now and then I'd pick a bouquet..."

"...and she'd always be so happy and appreciative when I presented them to her..."

"But the truth is...."

"...I had picked the flowers..."

"..from her own beloved gardens."

"That's so sweet.   Did she know?"

"Of course. She must have...."

"....because the flowers in my bouquets only grew in her gardens.."

"Yet she never said a thing...."

Getting Late

Baron and Naomi were still talking.....

...when Miho returned....

"It's getting very late, and it's time to try get some rest...."

"Your rooms have been made ready, and I've also had some night clothes laid out."

"​We can talk some more in the morning"

"Thank you. I am rather tired..."

"Then I'll show you to your room..."

Time for Bed

Baron went to check on Naomi, and found her sitting on the edge of the bed....

"How are you doing?"

"I'm okay..... but it's still hard for me to believe I'm really here...."

"Could I ask a favour.....would you stay here with me....at least until I fall asleep?"

"Yes, I can stay.....and keep watch.....in case you wake up......"

So Baron kissed her goodnight....and made himself as comfortable as possible in the chair in the corner....

...and Naomi finally drifted off to sleep....

It looked like it might be a long night....
