Magnolia Plantation
On our final day down south, we visited the Magnolia Plantation along the Ashley River near Charleston, South Carolina. The gardens were started over three hundred years ago, when the original mansion was built. It burned down accidentally, then a new house was built, but it was burned down by Union soldiers during the Civil War. The current house was built on the foundations of the second house shortly after the war. Lisa put on her Victorian outfit, to better fit into the historic environment.
