the Magic Talisman
This was the very first book my sister Marianne and I put together, way back in 1987. Marianne came up with a basic story, and took three of my children, as well as two nieces, out in her car to be photographed on location, dressed in simple outfits borrowed from my costume stash. All the main characters were played by Chris (10), Nick (8), Judy (8), Kelly (5), and Mary (5). Two young nephews also made a cameo appearance.
I wrote the final story, Marianne printed it, and since it was in the days before colour printers, we hand-coloured all the borders on all the pages, glued on the photos, and slipped the pages into plastic sleeves in a binder.
Then in 2023 Marianne reworked the original story so it could be printed as an actual book....

The story involves a Queen who gives birth to twins, but her kingdom is under attack, so the kind fairy takes the babies to safety.
The people fight bravely, but lose the battle to an Evil Sorceress....
One of the twins, Eric, grows up not knowing his true heritage, is befriended by a large bug named Fizbiz, and must go on a quest in search of a magic talisman that will destroy the evil sorceress.
He comes across a knight named Galan, and releases him form his spell, and the knight joins him on his quest.
The two come across an Elf named Flint, who joins them...
The three companions must face many challenges as they continue on their quest...
