Iplekids Everyday

A collection of photos featuring my smaller Iplehouse dolls.

Yummy Gingerbread

With the Holiday Season just about over, the kids were finally allowed to help themselves to the gingerbread houses....
Picture
Bordy began by dismantling the lighthouse...

..while the girls started breaking apart the first gingerbread house.

Effie broke off the chimney...

While Byuri took apart the roof.

But Aki was mostly interested in getting the giant bubblegum ball...

After dismantling the lighthouse,

which seemed a little boring because it was so plain...
Picture
..the boys  turned their attention to the second gingerbread house which had way more icing and candy decorations...
Picture
But not before Aki had removed the big gumball...

New Hats

Two of my Medieval Fantasy girls - Faye and Amber - just weren't working for me.  Iplehouse KIDs tend to have a small face with a large upper head and most wigs tend to emphasize it. Faye had been wearing a flower wreath which helped some, but I hadn't found a good look for Amber yet. She is a KID Bambi, who arrived last summer, but I just hadn't been able to find the right look for her. I purchased her because she reminded me so much of a young Bianca, but I just couldn't get the right look for her. I also couldn't live with the name 'Bambi' and had renamed her Amber.

So I thought I'd try making them both a hat...

The hats really helped..

Their hats helped emphasize their faces by reducing the look of their large upper heads....

Deepest Sympathies

Inauguration Day, January 20th, 2025
Our sincerest condolences go out today to our friends to the south...
Picture
....as they mourn the death of everything they've been taught, and the values they hold dear; to always speak the truth, not to steal, to love and respect their fellow man, and not to covet anything that belongs to their neighbours....
Picture
Instead we are ushering a new world based on lies, misinformation and greed, where criminals reign supreme and ordinary folk lose their basic rights and freedoms. Where love for one's neighbours, and helping those in need is being replaced with every man for himself in search of the mighty dollar. One can only shake their head in disbelief. Who knew that it would actually come to this?  Today is truly a dark day.

Matching Outfits

I decided to finally tackle some fabric that had been lingering in one of my bins for the last few years. It was from a summer dress I'd picked up at Value Village with the intent of making some colourful outfits for Benny and her girls. I thought it was high time to make something out of it, and this is what I ended up doing.
Picture
I started by making a simple little dress for Erzulie...
Picture
Picture
I wanted something a little different for Angela, so made her a jumper with white T-shirt, and a matching crocheted hat..
Picture
I made Benny a simple sleeveless dress, and knit a matching pink sweater...

Thank You!

Today my sincerest thanks goes out to President Trump! If it hadn't been for his fine example of what happens when the far right comes to power, we'd have voted in our own Trump wannabe.

Instead, Canadians turned their backs on the Conservative leader yesterday, and reelected Mark Carney, leader of the Liberal party, and a skilled economist with exemplary credentials, to become our next Prime Minister.
Picture
It's what most of us had been hoping for, and now we have someone skilled enough to stand up for Canada against Trump. It would not even have been possible a few months ago before Trump came to power. But Canadians have learned from their neighbours to the south, and now we can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing we are in good hands.

And the fact that the Conservative leader was defeated in his own riding is just icing on the cake.

So, thank you President Trump!
