Iplekids Everyday
A collection of smaller photo sets featuring my smaller Iplehouse dolls.
Jamie
Some portrait photos of him...
Olivia
Olivia will be a daughter to Agness and Matias, so she needed a nice Medieval dress....
the Art Gallery
January 31st is 'Inspire Your Heart with Art' day, so some of the kids went to the art gallery where one of their favourite artists was having a show...
"This is the newest painting of her's in the collection."
"Reminds me of a trip I took out west once."
Stamp Collecting
February 13th is National Stamp Collecting Day, so Elin was over at Byuri's house to help her sort her new stamps into her album.
Then Byuri's brother came in with his stamp album...
"I have a whole bag here of doubles that you might be interested in."
So the girls moved to the floor where there was more room to sort the new stamps....
"There's some really nice stamps here..."
"And I don't have this one either."
"Are you sure you don't have this one?"
"Let me see..."
"Thank you!'
Then the three of them spent the rest of the afternoon sorting their stamps...
Flag Day
February 15th was the anniversary of our national flag.
In 1963, the government finally decided that Canada needed an official flag in time for the upcoming centennial celebrations, and the heated flag debate began. In the end there were three contenders, and it was George Stanley's concept design that won out. It was made the official flag of Canada by proclamation from Queen Elizabeth II, and on February 15th 1965, it was raised above the Peace Tower in Ottawa for the very first time. It has since become one of the most recognizable flags in the world.
So, some of the kids wanted to celebrate and dressed warmly to head out into the falling snow.

Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day
February 23rd was Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day, and Holly was taking her pup for a walk down by the lake....
It was cold and windy, and she had brought along a treat for her dog...
"Here you go boy..."
No sooner did she take out the treat, than another dog came running.....
She heard a lot of barking coming towards her....
It seemed that every dog in the park was coming for her biscuit...
"Hmmm..."
"Good thing I brought along an even bigger one!'
"Now there's enough for everybody."
A New Sewing Machine
Iris was thrilled to have a brand new sewing machine.
It was the latest model, and she just had to check it out.
Sewing was going to be so much easier...and faster....now.
Chickens
March 9th was National Poultry Day, so Erin gave the chickens some extra seed...
An Heirloom Quilt
March 20 was National Quilting Day, and Leona had taken out the vintage quilt that had been lingering in the linen closet for years. It was in rough shape and could use some repairs.
Holly came in to see what her Mom was doing...
"What's this? It looks really old."
"It's an old quilt."
"Your Dad's grandmother made it almost a hundred years ago."
"It sure looks messy, and nothing like the quilts you make."
"Well, in his grandmother's day they didn't have all the nice fabrics we have today."
"In fact fabric was hard to come by, so quilts were usually made from sewing scraps and old clothes."
"Well, they sure must have worn some colourful clothes back then."
the Eclipse
On April 8th, 2024 much of North America experienced a solar eclipse, and since we were in the path of totality, several of my kids were out there taking it in as well...
They had acquired a package of eclipse glasses...
...but they were one short. "Don't look, or you'll go blind."
Everyone stood gazing at the wonder unfolding before them...
Effie was especially excited....
We were in the path of totality, but just as the big event was about to occur, the heavy clouds moved in. Fortunately we were still able to occasionally see the eclipse each time a hole appeared in the clouds.
It got dark as night, and the street lights started to come on...
Then we watched the dark shadow of the moon pass to the east....
...and the light return to the west...
And when it was all over, the clouds disappeared and the sun came back out.
