Nutcrackers
Getting into the Holiday spirit, Efreet and Erzulie posing with their favourite nutcrackers..
Efreet liked the silver one....
While Erzulie liked the rare brown-skinned one best.....
The Village Bake Shop
It had always been Leona's dream to have her own Bakery....
...and the weeks leading up to Christmas were always her busiest time of year....
As much as she loved baking, it was a lot of work keeping up with customer demand.....
Dreaming of Sugarplums
It was a very snowy afternoon when Aaron, Byuri and her friends went to visit the Bake Shop....
"Look at all those yummy things"
"I love all those cookies in the front. I want to go in and buy one."
"Me too! Wouldn't it be great if we could make cookies like that?"
"Maybe she sells the recipe book..."
Buying Some Cookies
So Aaron and Byuri went in....
Cookie and Olivia wanted to buy a cookie, so went into the shop too...
"I'd like one of those gingerbread men in the front, please."
"Me too, please."
"And what about the rest of you?"
Cookie Recipes
"We were also wondering if you sold any recipe books, so we could try making some ourselves?"
"Yes, just like those ones in front."
"Yes, I do..."
"This is my recipe book. It has my recipes for many of the cookies I sell in my shop."
Aaron took a look...
"Is the gingerbread men recipe in there too?"

"Yes, it is..."
"..and lots of other great cookies too..."
"So, you'd like a copy then?"
"I'll just go ring it up, along with your four cookies..."
Time to Leave
After Aaron paid, Leona bagged everything up for him....
"Here you go...." and she handed each of them a candy cane.....
"Thank you so much!"
"Thank you for coming in..."
"And have a Merry Christmas!'
"Wow, that was so nice of her to give us each a candy cane!"
"Yes, and I'm so glad she had a cookie recipe book for sale. I can't wait to try some of them."
"We just need to decide on which ones, and see if we have all the ingredients at home, or we'll need to go to the grocery store first."
Baking Cookies
A few days later, school was out for the Holidays, and Aaron decided it was the perfect time to make some cookies with his sister and her friends. He'd already made a batch of gingerbread dough in advance...
'That's a weird looking rolling pin! It doesn't have any handles..."
"Well, it works just the same...."
Byuri could barely wait to start cutting out the cookies....
As soon as he was finished rolling out the dough, Aaron let them at it....
He baked the cookies...

...and rolled out more dough as needed....
When they were baked, it became Byuri's job to decorate them....
Cookie decided she needed to test one.....
'They are delicious!!"
Cookies by the Tree
After all the cookies were baked and decorated, and the kitchen cleaned up, Byuri piled some of them on a tray...
"Want to try one? I mean, another one?"
"I think I'd like to try a heart one this time..."
'They all look so yummy!"
Byuri put the tray down and took a cookie too....
Aaron took one too...."I think we all did a really good job..."
