Introducing Yvette

Yvette is an Iplehouse FID Yur. I had fallen in love with the company faceup on the normal version, whereas the real skin one did nothing for me. So I ordered her in normal resin with the intention of her becoming Bianca's younger sister. Back in December when I ordered her, Bianca and Rex were going to be staying in the Outlander period, and the plan was to make fancy French Rococo costumes for the three of them. Yur would be renamed Yvette.

But since then Rex has become a knight, so I made two new Medieval gowns for the two new, expected arrivals. Since I wasn't feeling especially inspired, and too lazy to switch the gown Bianca was wearing, Yvette ended up wearing the magenta Medieval gown.....

I had always thought of her as a blonde, but I didn't have any spare wigs her size, so borrowed them off of my Kaye Wiggs girls....

But I didn't like that wig, or the headpiece. And her eyes seemed 'off' like a 'deer in the headlights'.  So I found a wig I liked better - it was a size larger - and I adjusted her eyes.  I liked her much better....

Then took some photos with her sister....

The two sisters were each supposed to be wearing the other's gown, so I should try and switch them to see how that looks.

Yvette in Gold

I changed Bianca and Yvette's gowns around so Yvette would get the one I'd always intended for her to wear. I'd always had in my mind Lucretia's wedding gown from the TV series 'the Borgias'

A Blue Gown

I finished Yvette's new blue gown....

Yvette in Blue

I made a Medieval cap and a feathered hat to complete Yvette's blue gown.  I also thought I'd try some different wigs on her, to see if she really wanted to be a blonde or not.  I don't have many wigs her size - just two others that might work.  First a straight dark brown....

Then she reminded me of 'Juliet'....

Then I tried the lighter brown wig....

Then I redid the lacing on the front of her dress, and gave her the blonde wig back. I did like her with the other two wigs - she looks beautiful in all of them - but I think I prefer her as a blonde....

Yvette in the Scillas

With Jan not able to drive, I asked Mikey if he could take us to the Scillas on the town line for some doll photos....

I was going to change my position and put my camera down. Mikey picked up my camera and took some closer up photos of her....

I loved them, and was actually feeling a bit jealous that I hadn't taken them myself....

Then in a new position with her face in the sun....
Picture
Problem was, with her pale 'normal' resin, she just seemed so blown out in the sun....

So, after picking her up out of the 'woods' I took a few more with her back to the sun....
