Introducing Missy

My Mini Missy, by Kaye Wiggs, arrived August 15th. I had waited an entire year for her, anticipating this lovely little girl...

But as owner pictures started showing up online, it was clear that the factory had gone overboard with the red shading - especially on her nose. I was horrified, disappointed, and angry, knowing the doll was not going to be as advertised. And after waiting an entire year!!  Thankfully I found out well beforehand that the doll was not going to be as advertised, so wouldn't be quite as shocked when she'd finally arrive. In fact I thought I'd take a series of photos highlighting what her bright red makeup suggested to me....before sending her off for a new faceup.

Cold Missy

So, first up.....'Cold' Missy.
She looks like she's been playing outside in winter, and her face is red from the cold...

Under the Weather

Missy's bright red cheeks and nose, could also be because she's not feeling well.....

Clown Missy

Maybe Missy's red cheeks and nose are because she's secretly really a clown.....

Sad Missy

With Missy looking perpetually sad, I wondered what would make a little girl look so sad....

"I accidentally dropped it...."

Missy's New Look

I was not happy with the faceup on my Mini Missy when she finally arrived last month, so I brought her away to Charie Wilson to see what she could do with her.  When I picked her up she was just perfect!
Picture
Charie removed her red nose, added a bit of blush across the bridge of her nose, added some freckles and slightly darkened her eyebrows - the rest of her original faceup stayed intact.  Charie also blushed Missy's body and gave her a manicure and pedicure.

It's like Missy has become a whole new doll....

Now she just looks a bit 'shy' as opposed to sick or depressed.

She's gorgeous now!

Thank you so much, Charie!!

Fairy Missy

I've been having lots of fun photographing Mini Missy.  The second outfit I tried on her was the peach-pink fairy costume that I had made for her. It's a bigger version of Talyssa's.

The biggest challenge was her wig.  I only have a handful of size 5/6 wigs, and they were ordered for my Fashion ladies, so there's really nothing suitable for a younger girl. So I put in a wig order on the weekend, and am just going to have to make do until they arrive.

Missy in Purple

I had made two Mini fairy outfits expecting Missy to get the peach one, but I think she prefers the purple one instead. I even had a mauve lambskin wig to go with it...
