Introducing Grace

Grace arrived the first week Jan was in the hospital, and it took me a little time to unpack and dress her.  She is an Iplehouse FID in Special Real Skin, with faceup B, and was basically ordered to replace Rosie as Baron's lady.  Which meant stealing everything Rosie was wearing, including her wig. And because Grace was going to be more of an 'active' girl, I found a spare bow, and borrowed a quiver full of arrows from Isar for a few photos...

She definitely has a 'Brave' vibe about her....

Grace in the Scillas

One of the things I'm most disappointed about this spring is that I don't have the opportunity to take doll photos in the field of scillas blooming along the townline. It's been an annual event, going over there with all kinds of dolls, trying to come up with new shots every year. And then there was also the new spot along the lake at Petticoat Creek which we discovered last year. But I don't drive and Jan isn't allowed to, so there won't be any opportunity at all this year.

Which means I have to make do with what I have blooming in my own backyard. Even though I do have two small areas where I have scillas blooming, the background behind them is far less than ideal.  But I was determined to try anyways. So I took Grace and her horse out to the backyard...
Picture
There's only a very narrow view across the lawn where the background looks remotely 'natural', and it still needs considerable blurring to camouflage the big wooden fence....

But considering it was this or nothing, I thought the photos were quite successful....

Going Riding

The scillas had been blooming for a while, so I asked our son if he could take me out to the town line for some doll photos.....
