the DreamHigh Studio House Elves
I had four blank House Elves for almost three years, that couldn't be painted because of Covid. Two more arrived, and in late Spring of 2022 they were all finally painted and dressed...

House Elf Patterns
I am sharing the patterns for all the House Elf outfits on this page, as well as my Willie's ragged and Christmas Elf outfits.
Please note that the patterns will only fit the dolls they were designed for. Many of the elves by DreamHigh Studio have different shaped bodies, so their clothes will not be interchangeable.
* Also note that most of the 'patterns' are templates, without seam allowances, which are meant to be traced onto the wrong side of your fabric. The traced lines become the stitching lines. All the pieces are labeled as to whether they are templates, or actual patterns with seam allowances included.
*There are no sewing instructions, so these tiny outfits are recommended for experienced seamstresses only. You are totally on your own with these. So, please do not send me emails asking me to explain how to do something.

Construction Photos
I took a few photos while I was making the outfits, and maybe they will help when trying to make them.
Daisy's Dress
This is how I created the separate pieces of her dress.
I first made a bodice (lower left) where the upper, puffed sleeves were made by sewing 1/4" ribbon over strips of fabric, but it ended up way too stiff. So for the second (upper left) version I used a very fine red silk and stitched fine silk ribbons to make the stripes. Her 'vest' was cut from ultra-suede and embroidered with a single strand of embroidery floss.
Gino & Nolan
I made both their outfits at the same time, switching the fabrics for their knight tunics.
I made their helmets by first making a hard wig cap (see Tutorials Page for instructions). Then covered their heads with plastic wrap, put the finished wig caps on them, and built up the basic helmet shape with Aves Apoxie....
First the basic shape, and then the details, allowing the Apoxie to cure in between. Then the helmets were sanded to make them smoother and more even, and then sprayed with silver paint.
Their breastplates were formed of Apoxie on top of cardboard cutouts, and curved to shape, then cured, sanded and painted.

Their cloaks were made from fine Cotton Crinkle Gauze, and the 'fur' was just short strips of a chenille yarn. I originally wanted to make armour uppers for shoes that I would have to make myself, but they ended up too thick, and I hate making shoes, so just ordered some boots online instead.
Archibald's outfit was the most complex of all. I was inspired by the High Aldwyn in the movie Willow. His 'dress' was made from a rough, knobby silk. His cloak is printed cotton, which I chose because it would crinkle to make folds that look in scale. The fringed collar is made of two layers of ultra-suede.
His feet are such an odd shape that I had to make his shoes (patterns not included). His hair is sewn directly into the edge seam of the hat in order to keep down the bulk there would have been if I had made a wig and then a hat to go over it.
I found it very challenging making such detailed costumes on such a tiny scale. So best of luck!!
