Happy Birthday Effie!

January 17th was Effie's birthday, and she had asked for a castle cake....

She was so excited....

"This cake is as big as me!!"

I tried to get an 'official' birthday portrait of her with her cake, but she was just too excited....

However, I did manage a group shot of her with all her friends...

"Look, my Mom got us a Unicorn piñata!"

"She's filled it with candies, and is going to hang it up..."

"..and then we'll take turns getting blindfolded, to try hit it and spill all the candies out.."

"Mom says that because it's my party, I should go last. So who wants to go first?"

Erzulie was the first one who wanted to try her hand at the piñata...

but swing as she might, she did not hit the unicorn...

Everyone watched in anticipation.....and cheered her on....

"Three swings and then it's the next person's turn!!"

But she didn't hit it....

"Okay, who wants to go next??"

Next up to bat was Nami.....

Would she hit it or not??

But she missed it again....

With everyone who wanted to try having had a turn, and no one having hit the piñata open, it was finally Effie's turn

"Let's try that again from a different angle!"

...then one final swing....

...and she hit it, and knocked a hole in the bottom....
​....and the candies spilled everywhere....

"I did it! Look at all that great candy!"

With the piñata finally spilling all its candy...

The girls scrambled to pick it up....

Effie's Mom handed out some bowls to make it easier for the girls to collect the candies...

Some of the girls were interested in gathering the candies for later....

..while others just started gobbling them up right away....

But soon, a couple started to feel unwell....

Nami had eaten too much...

..and Olivia's tummy wasn't feeling so good either....

"Maybe we should just finish picking up all the candy, and save it for later.."

"That was such a beautiful piñata! It's too bad that we had to wreck it to get the candies out..."
