the Enchanted Forest

10/18/2024

I'd always been curious about the Enchanted Forest which is along the Trans-Canada Highway near Revelstoke in British Columbia, but every time we've gone by in the past it was either too early our late in the day, so it was always closed. But this time we made sure to be passing by when it was still open.

It was threatening to rain, but the dragons wanted to go anyways.

Saphira went to check out the view from the castle window....

But Winston and the kids were more interested in the treasure hoard...
Picture
They eventually went out to explore the forest, and the kids went wild climbing onto everything...."Get down off that roof!"
Picture
They came to another cottage...

And in a blink, the kids were up on the roof again. Winston just gave in, and went up just to make sure the kids were safe...

They met all manner of fairytale and nursery-rhyme characters...

There was even a pirate ship deep in the forest...

There were all manner of interesting houses...

...and exotic birds....

"Let's go look and see who lives in that house..."

The curious forest animals watched as the dragons explored their homes....

"Well, this has certainly been an interesting place to visit."

The dragon high on the ramparts watched them leave. "Do come back and visit us again some time!"

I loved this story! I loved the interactions that the family had with those they met. I really loved the dragon inviting them back.

Thanks. We arrived just an hour before closing so had to hurry through, and then it started to rain. It was really well done, and I loved all the fairytale houses. Although I have to admit to being a bit disappointed with the human figures in the forest. All the characters were hand sculpted from concrete, and some definitely worked better than others, so I only photographed the best ones.

At one point a family with three little girls caught up with us, and they were so enthralled with my dragons that I let them each hold a couple so their parents could take photos.

The exit was through their gift shop, and the staff were amazed by my dragons, and had to take photos of them.

I bet there were two dragon parents who were very pleased that their children were so admired.

I am happy that the staff got to see your beautiful work.

It is enchanting. I’m sure your dragons were loved by everyone.

Could there be any better place for a dragon family to explore on a vacation trip than an Enchanted Forest?! The dragon kids were certainly having a great time 😊. I loved the photos of those little scamps climbing on the roof tops.

I think you and your dragons gave three little girls a very memorable time in the Enchanted Forest ❤️
