Princess Zora

11/4/2024

Almost two years ago I was contacted by Ruby Red Fashion Friends to see if I'd be interested in submitting some costume designs for a possible future collaboration. I thought it might be fun, and they sent me a doll to use as my model. Then I immediately started on three totally different costumes in hopes that they would like at least one.  I was thrilled when they wanted to produce all three!

The first one to be released as a preorder in June 2024 was Princess Zora, which was their version of my Princess with the Frog.

Ruby Red sent me a Princess Zora and she arrived in late October.  I was surprised that their limited edition dolls come bald and undressed for the collector to put together. Everything came wrapped in tissue paper, and after dressing her I had to take some photos. First, in her garden with her horse...

Congratulations! How wonderful. I am glad that more folks will be able to see the marvelous costumes you make for dolls.

Thanks! I'm hoping RRFF collectors will enjoy more of my designs, as there's several more coming.

She turned out so well! They did a great job reproducing your beautiful costume. She's so cute! Everyone who ordered her must be delighted.

It's nice she arrived in time for photos in your garden.

Yes, I agree, they did a really nice job.

I'm also glad she arrived in time while there was still some colour in my back garden. These photos were taken just ten days ago, along with several others, and the garden has been going downhill fast. So I'm glad I took advantage and made the effort to take lots of photos.

You have done wonders with costumes, as always, but these RRFFs with their tight smiles and no personality, that we see everywhere to the point of getting indigestion because we are so invaded by them, do not have sufficient character for your photos: they bring a kind of inconsistent lightness, a blandness that shocks compared to the depth of your magnificent stagings and what they convey as feelings. For my part, I find that RRFF are totally at odds with your style.
However, I love your photos, all of them, they bring so much dream and beauty. But not those with the RRFFs, I find them disappointing.
