MSD Men

1/26/2025

Someone on one of the doll groups was asking where they could get clothes for their new SartoriaJ ATH guy, and asked for a photo of one beside a MiniFee.  Well,I don't have a Minifee, but do have a wide selection of MSD size men, some of which are probably the same size. So I took a photo representing all the different sizes of MSD guys that I own, with an SJ 51 ATH Jude in the middle....

From the left: Doll Leaves Maya, Narin, Limhwa Mono, SartoriaJ 51 ATH Jude, Iplehouse FID Lawrence on a Muscle body, Iplehouse FID Baron on a Model body, and Iplehouse JID Kyle.
Picture
SartoriaJ men are by far the biggest. They also have a slightly bigger 52 Zeus size, but I don't have any of those. I make all my own doll clothes, and the only one Jude can share with is Lawrence. They have pretty much the same size torso, and can share clothes.  Baron has a Model body, and although he can wear something from either Jude or Lawrence, neither of them can squeeze into anything made specifically to fit the FID Model body. Iplehouse JIDs have the same size torso as the FID Model, and they can share clothes, although FID clothes will be too long on a JID, and JID clothes will be short on an FID.

The three MSDs on the left can share each other's clothes. but there's no way any of the other four can borrow anything from them - not even the JID, who has a much chunkier body.

So, what it boils down to is that SartoriaJ men can only wear SartoriaJ clothes made specifically for them, or you have to make your own.

What a great comparison pic!! Sadly, SJ discontinued the 52 Zeus a while back. It was said they only sold nine of them in a year. I was working on my HIDM again for a while (not to mention ordered five SartoriaJ SD dolls that year) so I hadn't ordered one in a minute. I'm bitterly disappointed because I do have one 52 Zeus already, and he is my clear favourite. I will buy more 51 Ath at some point (as long as they don't mess up that body, too) but will be wishing they were Zeuses, LOL.

Thanks. I wasn't interested in the Zeus body, felt it was just too big, so didn't miss it.

I have a Minifee Motion Line boy and my sister has a Doll Leaves boy most likely on the same body as your Maya. They are the same width-wise in the torso, but their arms and legs are longer than Minifee and they might be a little bit taller too; I don’t remember for sure. What I do know is that Minifee is the most ridiculously tiny MSD I’ve seen. Every other MSD I have is bigger at least in height, but usually in width and length of limbs as well.

So, I was right in assuming my Doll Leaves Maya was probably closest in size to a Minifee. Good to know.

There's no way anyone is ever going to be able to use anything from a Minifee on an SJ guy, other than maybe a cloak or scarf.

What handsome men. Their outfits seem to be color coordinated. Green on the left and blue on the right, with Jude wearing both colors. I love that!

No, they are not colour coordinated. Jude is the only one wearing dark blue (with his golden brown and black tartan). Lawrence is all black with some gray. And the other two Iplehouse guys are in black with wine red. Any 'blue' is reflection from the light outside. The three smaller MSDs are all earth tones, since they are all wearing their 'servant' outfits.

Oops sorry. My monitor is playing tricks with my eyes.

Such a handsome group, and all so magnificently dressed!
Comparison photos like this one are so helpful when trying to decide if a particular doll will fit with those you already have.

Thanks. I find that the JIDs' heads are generally too big for them to appear anywhere close to the the Fashion sized guys, so if they are in the same story they need to be placed strategically so as not to draw attention to the difference in head size.
