In the Village

Later that day the party arrived in the village.

Then after securing more supplies for their trip, they all headed to the Tavern...

Aeran was really looking forward to spending the night in a real bed. This was going to be such a treat.

Narin was checking with Aeran and Kyle before heading to the stable with the horses....

"Looks like the stable is over there."

"Adrian and I will join you in the tavern," he said, "once we have the horses settled."

And he headed towards the stable, as Kyle went to the tavern.

"Come on boy. You're going to spend tonight in a nice warm stable."

Kyle came back out. "So, I've arranged for some rooms. I booked their best room for you, and the guys and I will stay in the bunkhouse."

Aeran was tired, and she was really looking forward to a nice warm bath. She couldn't even remember the last time she'd had one.

"Thank you. That was really thoughtful of you." she replied. "What do you say we go in now and have some dinner?"

Aeran looks beautiful even with blowing hair.

It will nice for the group to be indoors for a night. They are very brave to take on this quest.

Thank you! Quebec has over a four hundred year history with some of the oldest buildings in Canada, so I was on the lookout for something that could pass for 'Medieval'. I had thought the old stone mill in Ste-Roche-des-Aulnais might work, and the back was even better than the front, with a stone wall beside the road on which my dolls could stand for a forced perspective photo.

The setting is perfect! You create the feeling that they actually are in a small country village.

There aren't many people who would drive hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of kilometers to find exactly the right setting for your stories! It's one of the reasons your photos are so wonderful.

Thanks! It was either ask our son if his movie studio had a Medieval Village backdrop, or go out to Quebec and find something in real life that could pass. I had both these locations in Ste-Roche-des-Aulnais in mind, since we'd been there many times before, so we decided to start our fall trip out that way.
