Fried Chicken

This was one of my favourite photo shoots from our entire trip, and I wasn't planning on posting it so soon, but then today just happened to be National Fried Chicken Day.

We were staying at the Jasper National Park Overflow Campground, and I had set up a 'campsite' on the picnic table to take several scenes for my ongoing doll story, when I suddenly felt inspired to do some fun photos with the dragons using the tiny KFC gravy and coleslaw containers that I'd saved from a dinner several days earlier.

"What do you mean there's no ketchup?!"

I was in the middle of photographing Maya's campsite for the story epilogue, when I suddenly had this totally unrelated inspiration. The photos make me smile every time I see them.

The Colonel is everywhere (laugh)! KFC is definitely a way to feed a slew of hungry youngsters.

Was the catsup (I am probably the only one who still calls it that) for the fried chicken or were there french fries?

There was only the chicken, but Winston likes ketchup on everything.

I love these photos! They are so cute and funny. Where else in the world but in Martha Boer's imagination would you find a dragon family and a medieval adventurer enjpying a bucket of KFC (or PFK if you are here in QC). Wonderful fun! 😄❤️😄
