Ever since my KID Faye arrived a few years ago, I've been having difficulty 'bonding' with her. There as something about her, and I just couldn't put my finger on it. I even had a friend 'enhance' her makeup a bit, but it didn't really help. Now, KIDs always have a very big upper head, and I wondered if a hat would help... I seriously considered selling her, and getting a different KID. Then I thought I'd try her as a boy... it still wasn't working for me, so I tried her as a contemporary girl... But compared to the other fair skin girls she just looked so pale and 'unhealthy'. Then in a final last ditch attempt to see if I could fix her I tried adjusting her makeup. Now, I've never done anything that drastic to a doll before. I may have a lot of skills, but painting dolls is not one of them. Anyways, I was determined to do my best. I tried making the dark shadows under her eyes lighter, gave her more blush, darkened her lips, eyebrows, and added a black line inside her upper eyelid.... I felt the cheeks were blushed too much, so toned them down with a Magic eraser. And I did a bit more work on her eyebrows... Before and after. It may not be perfect, but I think she does look a lot better.

She definitely looks better with your faceup enhancements. I will say I liked her as a boy too. I do love this aspect of bjds that allows you to change their look with eyes, wigs, new faceups, etc.it makes the hobby so engaging.

Thanks. I sort of liked her as a boy too, and even made that wig and blue outfit specially for 'him'.

Looking at the before and after, Faye looks so much more detailed now. I think the brows really make all the difference. Her eyes look larger and more lively. Well done.

Definitely those eyebrows needed to be darker. She looks so much better that way. However, I really liked her better as a boy, but that's just me.

She does look cute as a boy. I can't say I'd personally choose a boy over a girl though. I've enjoyed seeing Faye in the previous stories, I think her delicate features match up quite well for a girl with the medieval theme, the new touch-ups I really like the longer hair and gentle overall look of her. She looks a lot like Yvette, moreso now. But whatever Martha decides I'm sure will be great. The important thing is being happier with the doll and bonding.

I really like what you've done with Faye's face-up! It gives her more character and makes her seem more animated and involved with what is going on around her. Before your enhancements, she looked pretty, but bored with life in general. Not so anymore 😊.

I actually like her both ways. I think that the white blond hair was not enough of a contrast with her skin. I like the longer blond wig the best. Comments are closed.
