Steve and iris had booked tickets to take the train to the seaside for a family vacation. "I'm really looking forward to this." They had invited their niece Holly to join them... as well as their nephew Coco.... "When is the train supposed to come?" "Any time now, I think."

I remember seeing pictures of folks in the 1940s and 1950s who dressed up to take the train. They looked so elegant as Steve's family does.

Before the 70's people used to dress up for all kinds of special things - birthdays, special outings, Sundays, even going to work. Not anymore. Now dress codes are almost non-existent, and everyone is a just a slob.

I agree. I have seen people wearing their pajamas and slippers in shopping malls. Oh for the elegance of years past.
