Later that day the party arrived in the village. Then after securing more supplies for their trip, they all headed to the Tavern... Aeran was really looking forward to spending the night in a real bed. This was going to be such a treat. Narin was checking with Aeran and Kyle before heading to the stable with the horses.... "Looks like the stable is over there." "Adrian and I will join you in the tavern," he said, "once we have the horses settled." And he headed towards the stable, as Kyle went to the tavern. "Come on boy. You're going to spend tonight in a nice warm stable." Kyle came back out. "So, I've arranged for some rooms. I booked their best room for you, and the guys and I will stay in the bunkhouse." Aeran was tired, and she was really looking forward to a nice warm bath. She couldn't even remember the last time she'd had one. "Thank you. That was really thoughtful of you." she replied. "What do you say we go in now and have some dinner?"
The next morning Narin was getting ready to take down camp and had starting to pack up the horses, ..while Maya was starting to build the fire to cook breakfast... .. when Kyle came back from the river carrying a huge fish that he'd just caught. Aeran was a little surprised, and rather impressed. She had no idea that Kyle could fish, and he'd caught a really big one. "I caught us some breakfast." Then Kyle hung it over the fire to cook it... Aeran got out their last loaf of bread. Knowing that they'd be able to restock their supplies in the village later that day, they could splurge and enjoy a really hearty breakfast. Maya got out their last pie, and sliced up the last watermelon.... Narin stopped what he was doing and got himself a plate. Everyone was really looking forward to a rare, sumptuous breakfast.. It smelled so good. "How long before it's done?" "Just a few more minutes."
The river they were following eventually emptied into an even wider river., and they thought it would be a good place to set up camp.... Narin was taking care of the horses... ...while Maya started to build a fire... Kyle had been looking around, and had noticed the church steeple rising above the trees in the distance. "There's a village over there." "We should go there tomorrow and see if anyone there has any new information on where we might search next." "And we could stock up on supplies, enjoy a meal we haven't cooked ourselves, and maybe spend a night in a real bed." It sounded good to everyone, especially Maya. "So tomorrow we'll go to that village."
Like usual, Narin and Adrian led the pack horses, either going ahead of the others, or following behind. Both young men were skilled trackers... ...and on this day they were following a river through the wilderness, when they came to some rapids... Narin suggested it would be best to just skirt the rapids... ...and continue to follow the river.
Summer turned to autumn as Aeran and her companions continued their search for the lost talisman. Aeran had slowly started to appreciate Kyle, and had developed a considerable respect for him. Maya noticed that the two of them seemed to be coming closer, He had known Aeran his whole life, and they had been friends ever since they were young children, and wasn't sure how he felt about it.
I don't know how many people actually go to the Favourite Photos section of my website and check out the photos and stories there, so, as I'm waiting to finish the story I'm working on, I'm going to continue sharing some older ones. Bianca's Birthday was the very first photo story I did after I'd made the very first FID size medieval costumes. It was also the very first time any of my Fashion sized dolls appeared in contemporary clothes. It's the story of a modern couple, Rex and Bianca, and Rex has secured some surprise last minute invitations to a Medieval Times Gala for Bianca's birthday.... He's rented them some costumes... They arrive... ..and Bianca starts photographing everything... ...and at first things don't go quite as Rex had hoped... To see the whole story and see what happens - Bianca's Birthday
Still working on two new stories, so here's another favourite story of mine, which is currently in the process of being turned into a book. It's the Forest Dweller Christmas. I just love all my little Forest Dweller characters by Whispering Grass, and the story features so many wonderful photos.... To revisit the entire story - Forest Dweller Christmas
I'm currently working on a couple of stories, and none are ready to post just yet, so I thought I'd revisit one of my favourites from the past. The Soldier and Death, which was inspired by one of Jim Hensin's acclaimed Storyteller series, was photographed at this same time three years ago, and features my Lawrence as the soldier, waiting for the devils to arrive, so he can deal with them and drive them from the palace.... The story also features my Storyteller and his dog.... To revisit the entire story - the Soldier & Death
A promise is a promise, so Princess Zora took the frog inside the castle with her... From that moment on, he had to be included in everything she did. A place was set for him at the table for every meal.... He preferred fruits and vegetables accompanied with some protein.... The Princess had always been served her meals alone in her room, and she found it nice to have someone to talk to for a change. And he'd keep her entertained with tales of his fellow creatures out in the castle garden.
Princess Zora enjoyed playing in the castle garden, and one day she dropped her golden ball into the fountain. A little green frog appeared, and said he'd rescue her ball....on one condition. That she promise to be friends with him, and take him inside the castle to live with her. So she reluctantly agreed, and the frog rescued her ball... "Here's your ball..." "Thank you..." "But now," continued the frog.... "You must take me with you to live in the castle with you, just as you promised." The Princess regretted having agreed to the frog's terms..... But she had been well bred, and a promise was a promise. So she picked him up.... After all, maybe it wouldn't be so bad having a frog for a friend....
