His photos did look very good in print.
The next day, Naomi and Baron went to her shop.... "It's so good to see you!!" "We really missed you!" Naomi introduced Baron.... "So...you're the one who stole Naomi's heart...." Then to Naomi, "Come and see what we've been working on..." "It's absolutely stunning!" "Look....the newest issue of Fashion is out....." "...with you on the cover..." "They included your photos of all my favourite designs..." Baron sat down to take a closer look, while Naomi talked with her friends.

Baron and Naomi had come back to the future to tie up loose ends. They needed to terminate the leases on their apartments, and pack up any personal items they wanted to keep, as well as address some other important business. Almost everything had been taken care of, and they were at Baron's apartment that evening. "The lawyer's papers are all signed." "We can go deliver them tomorrow." "Sounds like a plan. You know, when we go back home, I'm really going to miss pizza...." "That won't be a problem. It's not that hard to make." "But yes, no more take out. We'll have to make everything from scratch ourselves." After dinner they planned the short trip they were going to take... "That looks like an interesting route. It will probably be beautiful up there this time of year." "Well, it looks like we are all set....." "Tomorrow is going to be a busy day." "An emotional one too, I think..."
We delivered the bottom half of our daughter's Barbie castle ten days ago, and are planning on delivering the rest soon (it didn't all fit in our car at once). I had kept several of the original banners that I'd made for it 32 years ago, since I'd been using them for various doll photo sets. I really didn't want to give them up, since they are integral parts of various interior 'rooms', but when my daughter said she used to have banners hanging everywhere on her castle, I felt a bit guilty about keeping them. So I decided to make her some new ones to replace the four I am keeping. The unicorn is one of the original banners I also decided to give back. So now the castle can be decorated as before, like she remembers.
Jamie and Bonnie had been waiting patiently all summer for their whole family to join them in the 18th century.... The last one to join them was Jude. I made a new wine red vest to replace the gray one with Rex's 'Outlander' outfit. I had him originally wearing a cream necktie and his long wig, but neither suited him with this new more polished look, so I switched to his short wig and a black necktie.... Grace and Jude...
Monday morning when the girls arrived at work, Narae spotted an envelope. "I wonder who it's from." "It's from Naomi...." "She says her date on Saturday night was wonderful, but then her boyfriend was suddenly called back home, and she decided to go with him. She says she doesn't know when she'll be back, but in the meantime she's leaving the shop in our capable hands." "Wow, she must really be in love with this guy!"
I really loved the set for Naomi's Costume Shop. It was the most elaborate setting that I'd ever created. So I took full advantage taking dozens of photos, even though I only needed a handful for the actual story.
So I decided to put the entire set into it's own, totally separate, album - Naomi's Costume Shop Well, I've come to the end of my story, and it's a new day, and for the first time in weeks I didn't wake up with doll conversations running through my head for the next post. For the first time in weeks I don't have any photos planned. Well, I do have one, but the weather isn't cooperating. And my photo studio thinks it's a dining room again.... I'm actually feeling a little 'lost', and need to come up some new projects to work on. Somewhere in Time has taken up all of the past few months, and that was enough to think about, so hadn't really thought much about what I want to do next. I am going to shoot a follow up with Baron and Naomi, and have already photographed most of the interior set scenes, and I'm planning to take them along on the road trip we are planning up north very soon. But I like to have costumes to work on as well. It just feels wrong to sit and actually 'watch' TV in the evenings. I'm so used to always being busy with handwork, and just listening. There's lots of stuff to catch up on - things that have been neglected for months. There's also two dolls who missed their birthdays due to me being preoccupied, and then there's Halloween coming up soon. And there's two Christmas related stories I'd love to do, and the way time flies these days it's high time to start on the costumes for those if I really want to tackle them this year. Of course, no one says I have to put the lights and decorations away right after Christmas, right? With the ongoing pandemic no one will be coming over anyways. There's also some seriously neglected housework needing doing, boxes of fabrics to sort and reorganize, and now that the cold weather can come at any time, all the plants that have been summering outside all need to come back in. But first they need de-bugging and transplanting. Anyways, I did put together the 'Making of Somewhere in Time' album in Favourite Photos. I didn't remember to take all that many behind the scenes photos, but it might still be of interest... I also want to make a separate album with all the photos of Naomi's Costume Shop. I got totally carried away taking dozens of photos of several different scenes in her shop, even though I only needed a small handful of photos for her back story, so I'd like to still share all the rest. But first many still need processing.
So, lots to do..... Naomi took Baron's hand.... "I love you...." "...and I want to stay. Here with you." "Are you sure?" "Yes." And she turned to Miho... "I love your son...." "...and I'm going to stay." Miho thought for a moment.... The girl was willing to give up everything for her son. She clearly loved him. "I realize it's a great sacrifice on your part to make the decision to stay here with Baron, so if you write a letter to your friends, I can send it to them. I think that may ease your mind about what you've left behind." "Thank you. I really appreciate that. It would make me feel better about it." Baron swept Naomi up in his arms.... "I love you." The maid smiled.... ..and Miho was happy... ... that her son had found true love at last. "I love you!" And he kissed her.... ...and this time.... ...nothing happened. They stayed where they were.....exactly where they were meant to be. A girl from the future, and a guy from the past, happily ever after, somewhere in time....
