I had been meaning to photograph these three girls for weeks, so I could finally put their dresses up for sale. Then last week we had one really nice day. So it was then or never. So they are just home from school, and enjoying hanging out on the back patio with some nice cool lemonade.... Layla with her favourite book.... Izzy loves the Peter Rabbit books....
Well, Talyssa's broken finger has been glued back on for the time being, and I covered it with the tiniest of bandaids. I had to cut down the smallest bandaid in the Our Generation 'Under the Weather' accessory package. This girl has tiny fingers, and her resin is so smooth the bandaid wouldn't even stick, so I had to cut a tiny strip of tape to wrap around it, to hold it on... I also tried a different wig on her. I bought the one she had on first specifically for her, thinking she'd look best in the shorter, straighter hair, but that wig was so puffy without the hat, and it would barely stay on. This curly one is the Ellowyne Rose wig I ordered for Miho. I do like the curly look, but it's way too long. I think I prefer the shorter, straighter look with bangs. Both wigs will need a lot of trimming, so i need to decide which wig she looks best in, before I start cutting. Talyssa's friends just had to check out her 'boo-boo'...
After waiting for more than nine months, Kaye Wigg's Tiny Talyssa finally arrived today. I was so excited, waiting for the mail truck, because unlike most of my dolls, Tiny Talyssa comes with a face up, so she can be dressed and played with right out of the box. Unfortunately, just as I had unpacked her and had started to dress her, one of her fingers popped right off!! I have so many dolls who get dressed and redressed so often, and some have even thinner fingers, but I've never had a doll's finger break off. I just put her finger in a small box, and continued dressing her, hoping nothing else would fall off. She is very cute, and the outfit I had waiting fit her perfectly... She's a new friend for my Tillie and Cinnamon....and is such a lovely colour resin.... But, like me, she's a bit upset about losing a finger.... I want to see if I can get her a new hand. In the meantime I'll try glue her finger back on and cover the seam with a tiny bandaid. I think there was one in one of my OG accessory packages.
*Edited to add - I've been in touch with Grace at Jpopdolls, and she is ordering a new hand for my little cutie. So all will be good. Each evening they'd go down to the lake to watch the sunset... In fact, we took them down there three evenings in a row.... It was so romantic.... The third, and final sunset, was spectacular.... The perfect ending to a wonderful honeymoon.
In the evenings they'd head out for dinner. At Eastside Mario's they loved the pizza piled high with anchovies, and the linguine with mussels Alfredo.... (anything 'fishy') Then it was time for some night life....
Each morning they'd start the day hanging out at the Hotel pool.... After wearing clothes for so long, they seemed so 'naked', so i tried making bathing suits, but gave up. I figured they were just Toads after all. And there was no one else using the pool anyways... "This is the life!" Breakfast was cake and wine.... "So, what shall we do today?"
in the evenings Tiana and Mr. Ropuha would take a stroll down the beach... "This is such a beautiful place!"
Today is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada. Usually we are away on a road trip somewhere at this time, so I've never taken any doll photos to celebrate the occasion. I never had the need to. But this year we are stuck at home, neither of us feeling very well. So I thought I'd post some photos from a few years ago, that seemed appropriate for today.... Thankful for the harvest....
Eventually they arrived at their destination, with the special Honeymoon Suite that Mr. Ropuha had booked for them.... Tiana was awestruck! She'd never seen such a beautiful, magical place.... Mr. Ropuha took her hand....."Come look at this..." But Tiana seemed more interested in the decor at that moment... "Look, there's even champagne for us..." "But just look at all this fabulous greenery!" "Sigh..." This wasn't quite the reaction he had anticipated.... But then she turned her attention to Mr. Ropuha, and the reason they were there....
