Naomi had a plan she hoped would help her twins engage with Olivia and Mika. She had prepared a tray of her twins' favourite cookies in the hope that it would help 'break the ice' .... Fiona quickly chose her favourite, and went to sit down. But Mika was having difficulty choosing. She'd never seen cookies like these before. "Just take one." advised her mother. But it was such a difficult choice. Daniel had been watching her, "Take one of the gingerbread men." he suggested, "Those are my favourite!" So she took his advice and reached for a gingerbread man.
Naomi invited Agnes to sit down, and served her some tea. She had introduced the children to each other, but Mika had spotted the twin's rocking horse, and wanted to have a ride... Daniel and Fiona watched.... ...as the little stranger went wild on their rocking horse. Mika was clearly enjoying herself. But Daniel and Fiona, who hadn't had much exposure to other children, didn't quite know what to make of her.
Naomi knew how long each day felt for Agnes while waiting for her baby, so she invited her to come for a visit with her children... "I'm so glad you could come." Agnes and Naomi had become good friends, but up until now they'd only visited each other alone, and even though they had met each other's children many times, it was the first time their children would get to meet each other. Both Daniel and Fiona were feeling a bit shy... Whereas little Mika didn't have a shy bone in her body! But then, she'd already met Naomi many times before.
Did you know that every day of the year celebrates something special? I didn't, until in early 2013 when I was looking for some kind of new, inspiring doll photography project. There were literally thousands of special days throughout the year, and and it seemed like an interesting project to try and document as many as possible, so I spent an entire year doing just that. Then I’d revisit my list of special days again over the years and take even more photos. As a result, there were way too many Special Days photos to include in just one book, so we decided to divide the year up into four seasons, and start with the Spring edition featuring Special Days in the months of March, April, and May. Here's a peak at a few of the many pages.... The book is 119 pages, and features 72 of my dolls in 168 photos representing 78 individual special days. The photos were taken over a period of eleven years, and all together like this they make for a wonderful, very colourful book.

It was always hard to say good-bye. ...and especially now that their baby could come at any time. She didn't want him to leave... ...and he really didn't want to go...but he had no choice. "Please, try to take it easy and just rest. I'll be back as soon as I can." "I love you." "I love you too."
Olivia always missed her Dad terribly when he was away... He knelt down to give her a hug... "I love you Papa," she whispered, "and I really miss you when you are away..." "I know. And I miss you too. But it's my job, and I have to go." "But I've asked for some time off when the baby comes.." "And then I'll be home all day with you...." "...and your little sister." "But I really have to go now."
Matias had stopped in at home on his way to another assignment. The new baby could arrive at any time, and he wanted to check in on Agnes... "I'm doing fine." she said, "Just a little tired, but it's not like I haven't gone through this before." "Even so, I want to be here for you. So if I'm not back yet, just send word when it's time, and I'll come home as quickly as I can."
Naomi and Agnes had become the best of friends. Not only were their husbands half brothers, but the two of them had formed a deep sisterly bond as well. Naomi would come and visit often. "How are you feeling?" Olivia came out on the terrace carrying little Mika.... "My Momma is having another baby!" "Yes, I know." "So, what do you think about that?" "Well, when they are little they are a lot of work..." "And you've certainly been a lot of help with baby Mika." interjected her Mom.... "But I like being a big sister," continued Olivia, "And I think it will be even more fun when they get a little older.."
Agnes was the Elf King's daughter, and she had fallen deeply in love with Matias, and he with her. But knowing that her Father would not approve of her marrying a mortal, the two of them had secretly married. Her Father did eventually come to accept his daughter's choice, but he demanded that Matias go into service for him as a knight in his Elvin army for several years. Even so, Matias tried to be home with his ladies as often as he could. "Do you really have to go away again so soon?" asked Olivia... "Yes, I do..." "But I'll be back as soon as I can." Agnes felt the baby kick and took Matias' hand and placed it on her belly. "Do you feel that?" 'Yes, I do..." "Well, that's your new little son or daughter..." "I would love a son," "...but I'd be just as happy even if it is another little girl." Then he turned to Olivia, "I have to leave again for a few days..." "And I trust that you'll help look after your Mother and little sister while I'm gone." Yes, of course I will, Papa." "Well, it looks like I'm leaving you in good hands."
Elf Agnes was expecting again.... It would be her and Matias' third child. They hadn't really planned on having another child quite so soon... But they were a beautiful young couple... ...and passionately in love. And...well...um.... ...things just happened.... Still, they were both only too happy to welcome another baby. "It won't be too much longer now."
