I picked her up yesterday, and she was just perfect!
I was not happy with the faceup on my Mini Missy when she finally arrived last month, so I brought her away to Charie Wilson last week, to see what she could do with her. I picked her up yesterday, and she was just perfect! Charie removed her red nose, added a bit of blush across the bridge of her nose, added some freckles and slightly darkened her eyebrows - the rest of her original faceup stayed intact. Charie also blushed Missy's body and gave her a manicure and pedicure. It's like Missy has become a whole new doll.... Now she just looks a bit 'shy' as opposed to sick or depressed. She's gorgeous now! Thank you so much, Charie!!

Back on Valentine's Day, Isis surprised Steve with the news that they were going to be having another baby. Well, the months have flown by, and now the time is almost here. Isis called Steve into the room. "Give me your hand..." "Can you feel that??" "Yes....yes... I can !!" "Well, that's our little girl...." "How do you know it's a girl??" "I just do...." "She should be coming soon, so we need to get her room ready..."
My SID Asa also lost the fancy gown she had been modelling, and is back in her own gown again. I wanted to take photos of her in the garden, but didn't want them looking identical to Carina's, so we moved the table off the patio and put it in the grass on the other side of the stone pillar, to make a 'similar' but 'different' setting....
The granddaughters came this morning, and Rachel brought one of her dolls. She wanted to do a school scene, so we set one up.... Rachel enjoys choosing the props..... ...and setting things up.... Her doll also did some art....
My Carina spent the last year in the display case wearing a gown that was for sale, because I didn't want to fold it up and get it all creased, but now that's finally sold and gone on to a new home, my Carina was able to get back into her own gown again. So I had to take some photos....
Baby Sena arrived back in April, and she's been patiently waiting to join her family whenever I get back to the story with my Victorian family. No one had really noticed her laying alone until now, but I started making the bedding for her cradle, and Paige noticed her laying all by herself, and decided to pick her up and keep her company until the time when she can join her family.... *Edited to add.....Lorraine wanted to know how Sena fits with an FID, so Bianca offered to hold her while I took some more photos.... Yes, Sena's eyes are a bit bigger than Bianca's, but that could possibly be minimized by giving her smaller eyes, and not painting a line or lashes below her eyes. My Sena has smaller eyes than Supia suggested, as I don't like when the iris almost fills the eye hole. This is Supia's initial promo photo from when they first offered her several years ago.... and then how her promo photo looks now....
I've put together an album with all the Behind the Scene photos from the Newfoundland trip. It includes behind the scenes with Rex and Bianca.... ...and behind the scene with the kids....
It was a very long, hot, wet drive through all of New Brunswick, up into Quebec, and we took a short break in the evening to go to the lookout along the St. Lawrence in St. Roche des Aulnais, which is where I took the very first doll photos almost four weeks earlier.... With this post we've finally come to the end of the trip photos. I'm in the process of putting ALL the photos of Rex and Bianca into albums in Favourite photos, but there's a LOT, and I'm not very far with them yet. I'm just posting ALL the photos in the order they were taken, and not in any 'story order'. That will (maybe) come later. They start here - Rex & Bianca's Newfoundland Adventure
It was getting a bit warm in the sun. "Who wants to go for a swim??" "Me!! I do!!" "But the turkey is almost ready!" "Is it okay then?" "Sure, why not??" "Just for a few minutes. Just to cool off a bit...." "Well, don't blame me if the turkey is overdone then..."
The Resin Cafe doll forum held a 'virtual conference' to coincide with the BJD Conference in Austin the last weekend in August, and held a photo contest with their theme of "Christmas all year". The theme had been announced two years ago already, and I thought it would be fun to do something unexpected, like Christmas Day at the beach. After all, how many places actually celebrate Christmas in winter, or have snow on the ground? However, as the deadline for entries approached, I had to rethink a beach scene, since the local beach area had been 'improved' last year, making access much more difficult, especially with a load of dolls and props. So we took everything to our son's backyard pool instead.... Everyone was in their swimsuits, relaxing around the pool. The winners were announced yesterday, and my entry came in second.
